I agree that Bentley at G should be there.

BNB,
George Rogers is on the all time list, but is he better than Deuce? Did he have Deuce\'s combo of speed, power, and hands? I have never seen him play except on highlights so if you say he does I have to take your word for it. I just know the Saints in the past have always been missing pieces and never have had as complete an offense all at once as they do now. When they had Archie he was the offense, Rogers was the offense, Abramowicz, Martin. It was always piece by piece but never a collection of talent. Am I wrong? I have no problem saying so if I am. I made a statement though and I am gonna stick by it. |

You both are right. George Rogers was a package. The man could play but so could Chuck Muncie and Tony Galbraithe. The offense we have now SHOULD be the best we ever had. I also believe if they ever get on the same page, they will be the best.

What I said was, if you are evaluating this strictly on talent, then George would be there. Personally, after seeing all these running backs in New Orleans, I can honestly say that there has never been a running back that has worn black and gold, that has ever been the complete package, like Deuce, and it might be a while before we see one like him again. You just don\'t have guys that combine top speed, size, and vision, the way Deuce does. But George was good.
Muncie and Galbraithe were both great runners, but they made the most of their opportunities. Compared to Deuce and George, they were not as talented. Not to take anything away from the two of them at all, but there is not a comparison. Deuce will do what Muncie did, in half the time. |
The waiting drove me mad....
I don't want to hear from those that know... Everything has changed, absolutely nothing's changed Eddie is a....draftnik? |

JOESAM,
My sentiments exactly about this offense. Should easily be the best we ever had, but it isn\'t for whatever reason people choose to list, there are many opinions here. BNB Thanks for clarifying. Like I said, I have never actually seen Rogers play, so I was basing solely on the history of running backs the Saints have had that I did know, and felt strong enough to say none of them were as good as Deuce. I have seen highlights of Rogers, but the running backs I have actually seen in my lifetime are Rueben Mayes and Dalton Hilliard and Barry Word and Ironhead and Mario Bates and that guy from Iowa we got in the 3rd round some years ago(why can\'t I remember his name) and Lamar Smith and Ricky of course and I knew none of these guys could touch Deuce, except maybe Ricky but he wasn\'t truly dominant until he left New Orleans. Yet I woudl still choose Deuce over him even pre-retirement. |

Lest we forget, another pretty good running back that got to New Orleans at the end of his career, Earl Campbell. He in my mind was pretty good.
