Last time the teams played in regular season, the Saints spanked the Seattle 34-19 in 2010, and 28-17 in 2008. Yes, Seattle won the playoff game in 2010 but I think that we'd all agree that game was clearly an aberration. Seattle just got lucky that day.

Seattle has a midget for a QB who has never played in a MNF game before. That's huge. Think "deer in the headlights scared". They also run that Read Option gimmick offense because Wilson can't stay in the pocket and throw the ball effectively like Drew Brees.

Seattle doesn't have a TE who is anywhere near as productive as Jimmy Graham. Hell, Zach Miller even seldom gets to go out for a pass because he's needed to stay on the line and block due to Seattle's inconsistent and weak O-line.

And Seattle's so-called "Legion of Boom" is currently decimated by the injury to Brandon Browner and the fact that his back-up, Walter Thurmond, will be out due to a 4-game suspension.

The Saints have the advantage in this game.

Anyone who tells you different is fooling only themselves.

LOL Welcome Troll...

No... just painting the picture from the opposite side of the easel.

Drew Brees is a known commodity... a great leader/winner beyond reproach who has proven himself for years in the league.

No so with Russell Wilson. He's new and unknown to most fan bases.

What I said about Graham and Miller is fact.

And when I called Russell Wilson a midget, well, that was tongue in cheek.

For those who have not witnessed Russell's leadership, this game may be eye-opening... or, it may not be.

Regardless, the evening will be entertaining.

That much is certain.

WhoDats, what the hell is wrong with you???? Get back in the real world. Yes, some teams use their bad weather as an advantage. Its been like this for 100 years. Stop acting like you just woke up in this Universe. Packers. Steelers. Patriots. BEARS. (2006? Remember?) Vikings in the old days. Yes, honey, weather helps the home team. Just like Krazy & Drunk helps us.

Lets deal with real. We hate cold, and we are a passing team that
prefers a fast track.

Does it mean wer'e gonna lose? No, we got some D now thats one big game away from getting a name. We got some Pierre, and some Mark Ingram, and some "#79 is an eligible reciever." We got the smartest offensive coach in the game, and Big Fat Rob Ryan to pump the Defense up. We have Character and Guts. We have a quarterback who you can rip his head off, and he just gets up, spits some blood, calls the next play, and smokes your azz. '

We got some defensive young guns who only know how to rock, we have the best punter in the game, and if we can manage a pass or two, we have half a dozen world class receivers. We have a kicker who hits the ones that matter.

But lets get real. This is gonna be walking into a junkyard to fight it out with the dogs. We're gonna be cold, and they know it. The crowd is gonna act like a crazy mob, every time something goes against us. They got this Marshawn Lynch character, who i still have nightmares about that strike he bowled on our defense last time. I've see their QB, and he's not just another
Cam Newton/Vince Young/Kaepernick college hotshot who ran over everyone.
He can actually place the ball.

Until this point, we've been good enough to win ugly.
But if our offense goes in there and fiddle-f**ks around like it has for 10 of 11 games this year, we're dead. It all starts with five fat boys on the front, named Brown, Grubbs, DeLaPuente, Leilo, and Strief. We need to put our
jocks on straight and come out ready to rock. I'd like the first play to be a run up the gut to Ingram.

We're underdogs and we should be. There's every reason in the world to believe they can stomp our ass. But I want to come out and stomp the Seahawks, and their fans, and their weather. I want Jimmy Graham to bend their goalpost and yell like frankenstein. We're up against it. But I wouldnt have any other characters, any other coaches, or any other QB. Play Ball.

Damn! I just put my head through the drywall in the living room. Talk about getting pumped up!

Russell Wilson has never lost at home game in two years and came back from a 20-3 deficit in their divisional road game against Atlanta strictly passing from the pocket and I highly doubt he is unbeknownst to fan bases. Brees is an elite quarterback and as of now, Wilson is in the top four for MVP (along with Brees).

What does the last two meeting have to do with this one? None of the Seahawks from 2008 are even on this team. The last time they played was not lucky and you are just trying to start sh*t and that win has no bearing at all on this game.

Both quarterbacks are midgets and a true Saints fan would not even bring that up in the discussion so you are either a 49er troll or an Atlanta troll so go back to your room and finish your homework and perhaps if your good, Santa will bring a win to one of these teams.. Wait, not even Santa could promise a win for the Falcons...

It could, but I doubt it.

The Seattle fans are pretty rabid and they're out to prove that they make a difference in the outcome of the game... especially in front of a national audience. I know that I'll be screaming my head off.

On subject, the latest forecast for Monday night from weather.com is a few showers (30% chance of precip.) and high 30s at kick-off time. Likely mid-30s by the end of the game.

I don't see the weather being a significant issue that will help decide the outcome of the game except for one aspect.

The cold temps will most likely take the air out of the ball in the kicking game, which opens up kick-off return possibilities for Percy Harvin, who WILL be Seattle's kick-off returner this game and for the foreseeable future.

Don't know if any of you saw a replay of Percy's return for 58 yards in last week's game against the Vikings. It set up a last-second TD pass from Wilson to Baldwin to close out the 1st half.

Percy is so explosive in all facets of his game.

I wonder how Rob Ryan will try to defense him... as he moves from the slot... to outside... and then to the backfield.

Effectively, this game will be Percy's first full game back. He saw only limited snaps last week.

You can give the edge to the Saints in the kicking game.

Seattle has kicked-off 68 times with 37 resulting in touch backs.
The Saints have kicked-off 64 times with 42 resulting in touch backs.

And perhaps you saw Travaris Cadet's 82 yard return against the 49er's which set up a Jed Collins TD with less than two minutes remaining in the half.

;)

Re: Monday forecast in Seattle...

The Saints will deal with Harvin the same way they dealt with Amendola -- Seahawks fans had better hope Percy is up to the challenge of a physical game, against something other than a two-win team.

http://sinfl.files.wordpress.com/201...pg?w=610&h=431

Saints fans remember Harvin from the Vikings/Saints NFC Championship game -- his 4th quarter fumble on his own 20 is a memory that many Saints fans cherish.

Fwiw, Harvin's migraines are a thing of the past. His pulmonologist while still with the Vikings traced them to his having sleep apnea. He's been on a CPAP machine ever since and no more migraines.

Re him always having a hammy... no, not really. He had hip surgery back on August 1st for a small tear in his labrum. He's 100% healthy.

Well, historically he's never played an entire season. I guess this year is no different as he's "finally" healthy, right?

Alright... we've established that you're either lazy or busy doing something more important... but what could be more important than this? :D

Here's the skinny:

The Saints have played only 4 games outdoors this year... @Jets, NE, Chicago and TB.

In those, the Saints kicked off 23 times and there were 10 returns by the opponents, leaving 13 touchbacks for Hartley. I extracted the data by looking at the box scores for each of those 4 games.

Subtracting those from the totals you cited (42/64), that leaves Hartley's INDOORS touchback % at 78%... and not too surprising, a touchback % of only 56.5% outdoors.

Wind and temperature do matter.

But what direction was the wind blowing on each of those kicks? Who was the return man? What return yardage was given up? How deep was the returner in the endzone when he caught it? How many were squib kicks?

Interesting article on Harvin's lengthy injury history. The author is a neurologist (MD) . Pretty much his professional conclusion in a nutshell is that, Harvin is made out of glass.

Percy Harvin's migraines may affect his injury history, and help explain why he left the Vikings - Daily Norseman

Seattle fans, I hate to spoil your hope but weather is not going to play as much of a part of this game as you think.

Mud - you have turf.
Wind - If it isn't over 10 mph non issue... Christ Drew played for years in San Diego.
Cold - if nots not snowing it's not an issue. Drew went to Perdue, and having played... The cold is better than 98F in Miami.

Looks like 6MPH winds, 35f and showers possibly. You are not going to benefit as much as you think.
