Re: Running attack vs. Seahawks defense. Thoughts?
Nothing spectacular, but it'll be competent.
Statistically, the 49ers have a better run defense than the Seahawks do, and we ran it well vs the 49ers. |

Last time the teams played in regular season, the Saints spanked the Seattle 34-19 in 2010, and 28-17 in 2008. Yes, Seattle won the playoff game in 2010 but I think that we'd all agree that game was clearly an aberration. Seattle just got lucky that day. Seattle has a midget for a QB who has never played in a MNF game before. That's huge. Think "deer in the headlights scared". They also run that Read Option gimmick offense because Wilson can't stay in the pocket and throw the ball effectively like Drew Brees. Seattle doesn't have a TE who is anywhere near as productive as Jimmy Graham. Hell, Zach Miller even seldom gets to go out for a pass because he's needed to stay on the line and block due to Seattle's inconsistent and weak O-line. And Seattle's so-called "Legion of Boom" is currently decimated by the injury to Brandon Browner and the fact that his back-up, Walter Thurmond, will be out due to a 4-game suspension. The Saints have the advantage in this game. Anyone who tells you different is fooling only themselves. You are a TROLL!! |
Re: Running attack vs. Seahawks defense. Thoughts?
I'd have to say I'm a little less worried now that Seattle is hurting on CB's but as far as running goes. We should be able to get a decent amount. I don't see us gauging them on the ground but maybe Sean has a different plan.
Weather will also change things. |

With the Seahawks digging deep into having to play nickel and dime backs with little or no experience, the Saints will more than likely go pass heavy in this game and mix in the run just enough for the play action to be effective. 45 passes 20 runs |
Re: Running attack vs. Seahawks defense. Thoughts?
it will be a battle so get ice in the tubs before half time.
suck them up with a bit of the run . then open them up with pass. then you start getting those nice 6 to 15 yard runs. suckem back up to line and start all over again. same thing we did with the whiners and the cowgirls do not get away from the run and go pass happy. as good as we are at it it is not our best game plan. jets and the pats are proof of that if we get 150 yards rushing we should be looking sweet. 100 or less we are in a bit of trouble. 60 - 40 pass to run should be cool |
Re: Running attack vs. Seahawks defense. Thoughts?
Dropping my fantasy bird dinner, I do not appreciate any comments regarding the height of Wilson. This is off limits.
Wilson has made it very clear he is a fan of Drew Brees and Drew is his role model. Any conversation regarding height and Wilson, just replace Wilson's name with young QB Drew Brees. Do not get caught spewing double talk and height is double talk. Now, excuse me as I return to my bird and dressing. Carry on. |

Russell Wilson is one of this leagues future stars, and from everything I gather is a class act. We need more Russell Wilsons and fewer Cam Newtons. But with that said, I hope we rip his frigging head off this week. |

Re: Running attack vs. Seahawks defense. Thoughts?
To answer the OP question, I think we will run pretty well against Seattle.
Maybe get them to bring ET down to stop the run and throw a few deep. |
