In the passing game, the Saints are 2nd best in the league and Seattle's defense against the pass is 2nd best.... so I'll call that a push.

Flipping it around, Seattle is 3rd best in running the ball and the Saints are 14th best in defending the run... advantage Seattle.

And Seattle is 24th best passing the ball and the Saints are 3rd best defending the pass... advantage Saints.

Both teams are excellent in defending the pass. Both teams are middle of the pack in defending the run.

The Saints forte is passing the ball. Seattle's forte is running the ball. No surprise, right? Pretty much what we already knew.

Imo, the outcome of the game will hinge on which team is more effective in establishing their run game and staying with it to the bitter end.

It should be a helluva good game to watch and a credit to both organizations being featured on MNF late in the season.
Excellent analysis but that isn't what you said in the other and I quote: I disagree. Most of the advantages are in the Saints favor.

Last time the teams played in regular season, the Saints spanked the Seattle 34-19 in 2010, and 28-17 in 2008. Yes, Seattle won the playoff game in 2010 but I think that we'd all agree that game was clearly an aberration. Seattle just got lucky that day.

Seattle has a midget for a QB who has never played in a MNF game before. That's huge. Think "deer in the headlights scared". They also run that Read Option gimmick offense because Wilson can't stay in the pocket and throw the ball effectively like Drew Brees.

Seattle doesn't have a TE who is anywhere near as productive as Jimmy Graham. Hell, Zach Miller even seldom gets to go out for a pass because he's needed to stay on the line and block due to Seattle's inconsistent and weak O-line.

And Seattle's so-called "Legion of Boom" is currently decimated by the injury to Brandon Browner and the fact that his back-up, Walter Thurmond, will be out due to a 4-game suspension.

The Saints have the advantage in this game.

Anyone who tells you different is fooling only themselves.

You are a TROLL!!
