We could easily lose out

All of the teams we have left have defenses that are physical and as good or better than the Seahawks. We have shown time and time again that our offense cannot produce against physical defenses. I think Carolina is every bit as good as Seattle the way they are playing right now and they can easily win out. We seem to always struggle with the Rams, even if they are winless and Tampa is even playing pretty well right now and it's a division game which is always tough. I predicted 9-7 or 10-6 in the pre season and I'm afraid I'm going to be right.

Come on... the sky isn't falling.

Its not about the type of defense its all so about match ups as well. No other team in the NFL is built like Seattle.

OMG. I'm sorry but we are going to destroy Tampa's silly defense in our own home. We are also going to shut up the talking heads when we destroy Carolina this weekend. That means we go 11-5 minimum, and probably end up 12-4 beating either the Rams or the Panthers again.

That being said its a pipe dream. I would be surprised if defense cracked top 20 and our offense will be top 5, but there are some good offenses out there this year so while definitely attainable, number one is going to be tough.
Im still saying 9-7 with 8-8 or 10-6 possible depending on special teams play.

No way we lose out. Not gonna happen unless we have a catastrophic disaster to personnel.

If you don't think the Carolina Panthers are playing as good as the Seahawks right now - I'm gonna part some distance when standing near you...

And that Rams defense has some amazing shut down talent, even with the loss of Cortland Finnegan...

And the Bucs, well they acutally have a better quarterback than last time and have found a running game...

We are facing a December to remember...

Carolina is no where as good as seattle. The only thing comparable between those 2 teams is the front seven.

Seattle has the better qb
Seattle has the better secondary (not even close)
Seattle has the better receiving core

Carolina is a good team but they have weaknesses. Cam will make a couple mistakes a game and their secondary does not cover very well in one on ones. I expect a statement game this Sunday.

Carnival or Crisis....just don't do it. We lost. We have a big game this week. Fans have to come out strong in support of the team and the team will be prepared to play on Sunday. Dallas didn't give up when we smacked them down and neither will we. Lots of football left to be played and I'm excited about it.

We're not going to lose out, Dude. That's just silly. We have two games inside the comfortable bubble of our Magical Unbeatable Superdome.

But if you wanted to start a thread that says the Saints will be one and done in the playoffs, the minute they step outside the Dome, whether it's in Seattle or SF or Chicago or Green Bay or maybe even Detroit (it's a dome but it's still in the northern weather), well I would have to chime in and show some love and agreement with that.

I don't disappear . I'm here all week every week. If you people don't think we are in danger of losing out you are crazy. We beat the 49ers and they do have a very stout defense. We still didn't exactly light them up on offense. Kapernick sucks, and was not able to put enough points on the board. Carolina has the defense to shut us down and the offense to light us up. Tampa and the Rams not so much but we have a bad track record with them and Tampa is going to play just like every other division rival will.

Dude, don't worry about it. Every other year since 2008 we go 13-3. Proven fact.

2008: 8-8
2009: 13-3
2010: 11-5
2011: 13-3
2012: whatever, that **** didn't count
2013: 13-3.

See? It's a certainty!

WHODATINCA 12-03-2013 03:55 PM

Re: We could easily lose out

I get it now, Dude. You want it both ways: Right in your diagnosis if we lose.... barely satisfied, if we win ( but nothing short of a blowout has you feeling comfortable ).

Well, welcome to parity in the NFL and good luck with your strategy.

12-4 more likely than 9-7. Don't see 13-3.

Need a home playoff game.

There's a difference between "could lose out" (just about any team can lose 4 in a row) and "could easily lose out"

Everyone here knows we could lose any game on our schedule. To lose our last 4, or last 5 in a row is not something we could "easily" do.

I suspect we'll go 2-2 at worst, and end up 11-5, maybe 12-4.

Budsdrinker 12-03-2013 04:15 PM

Re: We could easily lose out

Looking at the scheduling left for both us and Carolina, if we don't end up 13-3 or at least sweep Carolina we will be the 5th or even 6th seed.

So I am crazy huh? What if I told you crazy was working fifty hours a week in some office for fifty years at the end of which they tell you to piss off; ending up in some retirement village hoping to die before suffering the indignity of trying to make it to the toilet on time? Wouldn't you consider that to be crazy?

TheOak 12-03-2013 04:31 PM

Re: We could easily lose out

Duder.... Brother man.... Hoss.... T-Boy..... Cat....

Had you posted that Drew broke his leg, Sean Payton retired, Jimmy Graham went to the Spurs... Pick any scenario where this team has suffered a debilitating loss of personnel or management. And there would be a reason to consider the plausibility of losing out.

But if you think I'm buying into any theory that the last 4 games are against teams that are better than we are on both sides of the ball AND coaches you are mistaken.

No way we lose out. At worse we pick up the rest of the home games; this gets us to 11-5 and the #5 seed. That's the worst case scenario, however I can easily see us at 12-4 with the #2 seed.

That being said I understand your line of thinking. We looked so bad last night I had flash backs of Brooks and Jim doing everything they could to lose games for us. This was easily the worst I have seen us play since 2001 week 17.
