Re: Speculation on Morestead's FINE ?
I'm starting to Think that kickers and punters should do some tackling drills too. For two reasons, one so they actually can make a tackle if they have to, it happens every now and then and two for their own safety. Its much easier to hurt yourself trying to make a tackle if you are not used to it. It makes it easy that you drop your head and lead with the crown etc.

i, for one was damn proud of our kicker for trying to take the guys head off, regardless of what roger goodell and his band of yuppies think.
you'll have to excuse me. i'm not politically correct. |

Re: Speculation on Morestead's FINE ?
That was bad; real bad...
Morestead should send him a delivered apology... If it had been a high hit, or a blind-side hit, that's one thing; but hanging on to the facemask invites retaliation - and it's usually another guy on your team who's playing clean and takes a dirty shot... |

Re: Speculation on Morestead's FINE ?
Morstead is actually one of the better tacklers on the special teams. I can remember several times last year when he saved kickoff returns preventing touchdowns.

Did he hurt the guy? Then let's just let it go.

What I don't get is how Carolina fans are saying it would have been a TD when Abdul-Quddus was RIGHT THERE to make the stop as well.

He'll get the first offense penalty of 7 grand and change. He almost got the daily double with a horse collar too. Just missed getting his hand inside the jersey and pads. The last time Morstead hit someone big on ST he hurt himself I guess that's why he reached out.

Re: Speculation on Morestead's FINE ?
i assure you our kicker wasn't thinking.... "i'm gonna facemask that guy!"
things occurs so fast out there, chit happens. get real. i still say, way to get the runner!!!! for a kicker, that was huge. you should have seen football, decades ago. |
