Re: Saints Rams week 15

I'm with SaintsBro. I don't worry about what the Rams bring, I worry about what the Saints bring, more specifically, I worry about the opening scripted plays. They aren't working, but seem to follow a pattern. These past several games all seem to start off the same, like someone accidentally Xeroxed off just one set of scripts instead of new scripted plays for each game.

We'll win this game, but I'm going to be looking really close at out our opening plays. Either way, we're going to leave that place with at least 2 TDs over the Rams.

Re: Saints Rams week 15

Looks like Roman Harper agrees about the slow starts:

Q: The team has been pretty dominant at home, but 3-3 on the road. With two road games coming up down the stretch, are you anxious to see how the team handles road games going forward?
A: “It’s not so much about being on the road that really causes us problems. It’s the fact that when we don’t have success early, how guys respond and things like that. I think that’s been the biggest, in my perspective from the outside looking in at times because I was injured earlier this year. When we come out and we play fast early, we get off to good starts offensively and defensively, that’s when we’re at our best. We’ve got to try to find a way to, no matter where we’re at location-wise, be able to come out of the locker room and start fast. When we do that, we have success.”

I said the same thing a few days ago...

Consistent, focused, accurate. Don't get cute, don't get desperate.
I was really glad to see that we overcame the so-so start against Carolina.

I'm confused, how did we start so slow against the Panthers? We scored a touch-down on our second, third, and fouth drive and held them to two field goals and two punts on their first four drives...

Their 1st possession they drove down the field, kicked a FG
Then we went 3 and out.
Then they drove the field again, and kicked a FG

I think that was a slow start, we didn't score until the 2nd quarter, then poured it on.

They ran 23 plays to our 8 in the 1st quarter.

Granted it wasn't as bad as the Seattle start, but it was a slow start. Holding them to FG's was crucial in my opinion.

Incorrect; we scored on our second drive of the first quarter...

Incorrect, We started it in the 1st, and scored in the 2nd.

But regardless, I considered it a so-so start. Its just my opinion, no big deal.
