yeah i know but he is so much like JR in his game would it be a wise move? not like pass rush is an area of need

though he might be the BPA at 27 according to the saints board. never know i would say he is in that group of player that may very well end up in B&G

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

I want to tell all of you this dream, and I really mean a sleeping type of dream, not made up but Lommis and Payton picked 5 O-linenen and 1 TE in the draft. I was not going to share this but I just for some reason I thought I would. I thought about this at work tonight and here is what I come up with our 2 pro bowl Gaurds are not getting any younger, we need a stud Center, our RT is not a spring chicken either, only real youth there is our LT and Graham will be costly, remember it was an actual dream but as crazy as it sounds it might work grooming the rookies for a year and replace the aging vets. I wish I had dreamed about a FS in there somewhere!!

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

Cornerback is deeper than you think this year; unless it's Gilbert, Dennard, or maybe Fuller, I'd wait for a cornerback until later rounds and look for guys like

Round 3 (91) Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood; Height: 6’ 1”; Weight: 195 lbs.
Round 5 (155) Walt Aikens, CB, Liberty; Height: 6’ 0”; Weight: 198 lbs.Round 6 (186) Dontae Johnson, DB, NC State; Height: 6’ 2”; Weight: 200 lbs.

Just gotta be disciplined in our drafting the BPA when we pick and Verrett is a second round pick at best because of his size he will be exposed against 6' 3"+ WR in the NFL everyweek; remember, in college, he may have faced 3-4 receivers a year like described; every week in the NFL, teams are 2-4 receivers deep like that...

The only problem is this - when the rookie contracts expire, they will all expire at the same time!!!

That's why when drafting you pick your spots, draft best person available, trade a player for to fill another need; today's NFL roster should always be in flux with certain anchors on your roster...

Verrett size is fine. I guarantee you, all these people moving Fuller and Roby ahead of Verrett on their draft boards are going to look plumb stupid in 2-3 years. He is all football player. Dennard is the same package with more size, but he'll be long gone before we pick. Same for Gilbert, but Gilbert is a little finesse for me. I like tough guys with a mean streak back there.

That could be your motivation, not mine...

If you'd read the thread without that dysfunction in your thought process you might discover several of us enjoy the discussing of learning of new players for familiarity, noted comparisons and new possibilities those players could bring our Saints...

Do you have any thoughts on players you'd like the Saints draft or not?

We'd really enjoy what you could offer...
