Wow, I had not seen any highlights of the kid before now.

He looks a LOT like Jammal Brown coming out of college. A LOT. Like, it's uncanny. Body-wise, almost identical. And the way he plays too. Seriously, if you can find footage of the 2005 draft look at the Jammal Brown selection and then watch Armstead footage. It's like watching the same player.

Re: Starting Armstead - Good move?

Finally a poll for the homepage that replaces the B&G fan base saying Seattle is the best team in the NFC.

What I am hoping is that with the change to LT comes a change to the way we handle our offense. Could there be a slim chance that things open up with a new LT?

Hard to say without seeing anything on him in a Saints uni.
If he has practice well and the coaches like it I say go for it.
We shall see Sunday

Re: Starting Armstead - Good move?

The thing Is that Brown had a great game against Carolina as did the oline as a whole. Maybe he just matched up well? I'm hoping it's the right move as I believe if it ain't broke don't fix it. I def think he needs to be benched but maybe after this game when we have already clinched the division. I'm sure they will put him back in if Armstead sucks

I thought he had a great game against Carolina too (the whole thing that night looked like the Saints offense should). Reading around on some Carolina forums today, they are saying that he had some help two weeks ago, it wasn't all 1-on-1 Brown against Hardy but they did some chips and double teams and stuff. When it's a blowout and an air show like that, I kinda stop paying attention to the trenches, it's too much fun and my section of the Terrace starts rocking....(if it's tense or close, I watch everything)....But Carolina fans are saying that, sometimes we only had 3 targets going out and their coverage play was so bad that Drew would just easily find the one that was open, easy peasy. Which is kind of what I remember it looking like. Hope that keeps up on Sunday.

Re: Starting Armstead - Good move?

It is Armsteads job to lose now, I think he will play with a lot of aggression and play well!! It would make my day by beating the Panthers by running it down their front 7 all day long and Armstead leading the way.

Re: Starting Armstead - Good move?

He seems from what I have read and heard to be fairly athletic and have a decent pair of skates... This bodes well for him in pass protection, Brown/Strief are not the most nimble cats i have seen and as long as Armstead can keep the DE from getting around him on the snap drew will be fine.

I love polls. And poles, and Poles, and pols.

Armstead better focus on his job. I don't want to see $100million sitting on the sidelines in a full body cast.
