What's in a uniform?
Call me crazy but I think there is a noticeable effect for many struggling franchises when they revamp their uniform/logo. Admittedly everyone is doing it, thus this point becomes easy to prove. However with teams that historically have been 'also rans' the change in look seems to have significantly changed their perception of the franchise. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see the fleur-de-lis swagger with earned respect from the league. However, what is top of my christmas list is to have the saints in the superbowl. I realize a uniform change won't fix our lack of professionalism, but it might prove the catalyst to the players on the field feeling like a new entity, with something to prove. I won't bother to go over the myriad of clubs that have found renewed identities after just such a switch. Look around at the previous 5 superbowl contestants. If we end up with a new coaching staff next year, I honestly believe a radical change in appearance will have a huge psychological effect on the New orleans Saints. Am i crazy? am I a bandwagoner? or is their potentially some truth in this notion. If we do change our look in some meaningful way, does anybody have an idea what look we adopt?

What's in a uniform?
I like our colors, but a newer, more modern look would be a nice addition. Same goes with a name change and logo. Maybe a \"saint\" just can\'t be as agressive as needed to make it to the superbowl.
I know a while back some of the members here were posting some uniform variations. Someone can probably even locate that thread with a little diligence. Big point is that the uniform change usually is done with either a location change or a large organizational change. Let\'s hope for the latter. |

What's in a uniform?
You\'re not crazy my friend. I tried posting this thread a few months ago, but no one bit.
I agree, it always seems with a new uniform/logo comes a new outlook for dismal teams. I would also like an updated look, possibly black helmet, with white fleur and gold trim, then do something with our 3rd grade jerseys/pants. Maybe I\'ll photoshop a pic of our current uni\'s, and post it here whenever Halo gives us the ok to use pics again. [Edited on 27/10/2004 by dberce1] |

No black helmet, that\'s so played out. I\'m waiting for the return of the red helmet in Atlanta. change the name to the \"Sinners\"...the marketing possibilities alone are endless.
You could also change from black, gold, and white to navy, gold, and white- just keep more white, so we don\'t appear to be a Notre Dame ripoff. Black Widow- you do know that if you want to add something to a thread where you already posted, you can go back and edit it. Keeps you from having to post three times in a row. Unless your shamelessly bumping you\'re post count. [Edited on 27/10/2004 by BlackandBlue] |

Am I the only one that liked the gold jerseys? Not for every game, but maybe for road games in hot weather when the home team chooses white.

My favorites of all time was when we wore the all black-jersey and pants. Very intimidating, specially with Ricky and his visor.
