Re: Perspective

What I can't stand is two things:

1. People saying they know what will happen in the future.
2. People saying that we should do INCREDIBLY STUPID SH*T like fire Sean Payton or cut DREW BREES.

Our team isn't playing very well right at the moment. And, yeah, everyone knows we COULD be one and done in the playoffs. But, because we don't KNOW THAT FOR SURE -- we bother to watch the game -- and we come here to discuss it. We come here to discuss the team because it is interesting to read what other people think about this team.

We DO NOT COME HERE to listen to ass wipes whinge about how because of the way we played yesterday -- we are for sure ONE AND DONE in the future. Or to listen to people call for the resignation of the most winning coach or QB in Saints history.

And, when we are all on edge in the game day thread -- just remember that your pessimistic comments are particularly irritating -- because we are all wanting the team to win in that moment. If the game isn't even over and you are predicting a loss -- it is unsportsmanlike. There is always a CHANCE -- as Carolina proved yesterday.

So, TRY to act like you can hang, ok? And, remember -- if going to the Super Bowl every year is the only reason you are a fan of this, or any team, then football is not your sport. Have a nice day.

Good post. There is nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade but most of it is baseless emotional over reaction. We have seen better days but we are very much alive and with our D playing like it is, anything is possible.

We had the game won. One lousy 1st down, 10 feet, and we have #2 seed locked up!

We kept the panthers from converting a 3rd down the ENTIRE game! Any team that does that has no business losing!

I believe Vegas had us losing the Super Bowl as well!

I understand we SHOULDVE had the game won but to say we had no business losing is a little off base. Again divisional opponent on the road in less than ideal conditions.

News flash for you WHODATINCA: EVERY team in the NFL wants to go to the Super Bowl. While some teams would be thrilled to have a winning record, the ultimate goal is the Super Bowl

There's only 1 fan base at the end of the year that is ultimately happy. You know FAN is short for FANatic, every forum from every team has one thing in common, fans over react the positive and spew the venom/pessimism when things go awry. I think the key is to weed/ignore the ignorant/uneducated over reactions and engage in the discussions that have merit and provide positive feedback. I for one don't mind the off the wall posts, i simply ignore them. Happy Holidays and Merry festivus to the greatest fans in the NFL.

It has been a suspicion of mine for awhile -- but you have just proved you are one of the insipid morons I referenced above.

Re: Perspective

For decades this team broke our hearts, teased us for a bit, then broke out hearts again. But in just seven short years we have been spoiled. I have to often stop and remind myself of all the losing we had to endure and remember that, even though we may not win it all, this team has done what no Saints team pre-Peyton/Brees has done. And that's give us the OPPORTUNITY year in and year out to have a winning record, go to the playoffs, and have a chance at a Lombardi. I think that's all that we as fans should ask of our team. Just give us that chance every year.
