Kerry Collins was easily the best QB we had during the Ditka years. Too bad we only had him for half a season.

Still, I get the point. I'm always willing to allow Drew a brain fart here and there, as he is the best QB we've ever had, and probably ever will have.

Why is Jeff Blake on that list?

He is the best QB the Saints have had that wasn't named Drew Brees.

Funny how I always thought that was Archie Manning?

I am grateful for the team we have. But at the same time it appears we get trashed if we are not dominating by opposing fan bases no matter what. If we don't look serious we get easily dismissed. And being on a undercover board of former ESPN posters, it becomes distressing to see my saints constantly dissed and people saying panthers have a better shot at a sb.

I'm thankful I was fortunate enough
to watch 10 wins so far. People forget that at one time 10 wins took a few seasons, they forget that before that there were no Saints.

Considering most fans default to a regional offering. If rather watch the Saints lose than Cowboys/Texans/or Falcons win.

I don't think that any of the above two lists' teams would trade for Brees. That's 13 teams of the 32. Just sayin'.

Anyway, most teams don't want to commit that much of their cap to one player, and when they do, they usually turn into mediocre teams.

The best teams right now aren't paying very much for their starting QB, relatively. They all have the cap space to pay offensive linemen who can block, and depth.

He's really, really bad (minus that one drive).

Honestly if we missed the playoffs the year after we won the sb and Atlanta didnt start their sb contention crap I would be fine with what we have this season. But making the playoffs back to back years and another the next means the saints have what it takes to be ELITE and we have a right to want this team to get the respect the pats, broncos, and 49ers get.

Looking back a little further reveals names like Jim Everett, Doug Nussmeier, Wade Wilson, Mike Buck and Steve Walsh.

Ungrateful who dat's? Please don't condescend.

Drew actually looks a LOT like Aaron Brooks when we go on the road lately, but that's beside the point. You don't see anyone comparing Drew to any of those guys do you? Also, try not to lose all perspective when trying to GIVE perspective. Those quarterbacks didn't have any talent around them with the exception of Brooks, who had reasonable talent around him. Those quarterbacks also played in the non wussy era of football. Don't forget that.

Drew is obviously better than all of them, but right now he doesn't play up to the standards of a 100 million dollar man. And frankly, he doesn't look like half the quarterback he used to be, at this moment. But it's not ALL his fault, and that's why we're complaining about play calling and O-line play, as much as we're complaining about Brees.

And finally, does it ever occur to anyone that maybe, just maybe, we WANT to forget about the old days?

That is not necessarily a fair assumption.

Nearly all teams pay for what they consider to be a game changer, and they are not always QBs. Drew happens to be the game changer that we invested in.

Jarred Allen and Revis are with in 1.5M of Drew for Cap Hit.

Cap hit is all that matters these days. Total and AVE contract value is moot because very rarely are those huge contracts played out.
