Run Game Key to Winning on the Road

We're 3-5 on the road this year and I truly believe it's because we don't run the ball enough. And Im not saying we need to run the ball more just for the sake of balance. I could care less about balance if we're winning. But on the road, running the ball effectively is how we neutralize wind, cold, bad weather, crowd noise, etc.
i hope we give Philly a strong dose of Khiry, PT and MI, but I just dont think it'll happen.

Scoring is a great equalizer. I don't care how we do it.

Neither do I. But our normal formula obviousky doesnt get it done on the road.

Not only do we need to run the ball, 75%-85% of the carries need to go to one back.

Yea but do the coaches know this mystery you speak of.

Running for the sake of running is not exactly what I would call a game plan.

The Eagles have the #10 rush Defense and the #32 passing defense.

Saints Rushing yards +100 yard games
Dallas - 242 W
@New England - 131 L
@Panthers 126 L
Cardinals 104 W
@Falcons - 103 W

Obviously if rushing was key to winning we would have beat the Patriots and Panthers.

People just want to make it as simple as we need to run the ball more. That's not the problem. We turn th ball over more on the road. Drew is far more prone to interceptions away from New Orleans.

As far as the run game goes, I honestly wouldn't mind phasing Sproles out and running a Robinson and Ingram power runner backfield. I don't think we've seen them peek. Pierre Thomas has. And Sproles too.

I agree with that. 1 caveat though, just having Sproles on the field changes defenses.

This is the perfect setup , we suck on the road and go against a team that sucks at home !! Plus ... Our offense hasn't been on point as of late , watching film on chip Kelly's offense I'm sure is going to give Sean Payton some new arsenal to steal , if you watch them closely , their routes are ingenious , the spacing for lesean McCoy is innovative always giving him a cutback lane.

If our offense revs up for this game and can steal a few wrinkles just for the playoffs , we're going to be a buzz saw

Throw out the regular season. The playoffs are a whole other animal. All teams face must win situations . I think our chances are pretty good against the Eagles. You hear the cliche about just do your job because it is true.Focus is very key to optimized performance.Players sometimes get in trouble in these big games trying to do too much. Forcing throws ,jumping routes etc..I played rugby at all-star level and the coaches always stressed that the things that got you to the all-star level was ding your job better than your opponents.It really is that simple. The only team that really scares me is the Seahawks. They are beatable if we do our jobs.GO Saints
