Re: Eagles fan here

Our DLine is awesome. Hicks, Jordan and John Jenkins are all Pro-Bowl caliber and Bunkley, Walker and Foster could easily start for many teams.

Our LBs are all solid and Junior is a star on the rise.

Until our backfield got decimated by injury it was also very strong. Thanks to great depth we still have a decent group but it is the way to go if you're looking for a weak link.

If you want to stop Graham all you have to do is do what the Pats did. Put your strongest DB on him and and mug him all day and hope the refs never make a single call on it all day.

Otherwise get a strong rush up the middle and force Brees into errors.

Re: Eagles fan here

I clicked on this expecting a trollfest but I was pleasantly surprised.

I think if the Saints win this game it will be because of our pass rush. Contrary to popular opinion we don't blitz much, we really get pressure with four guys - Cam Jordan, Junior Galette, Akiem Hicks and a couple of rotational guys subbing in for Bunkley at the nose on passing downs. Technically Galette is a linebacker but he is really just a speed rushing DE. Hicks and Jordan are big power bull-rush types and do most of their damage inside.

Our secondary is vulnerable with Greer and Vaccaro both out for the season. Keenan Lewis is the #1 corner and I expect he'll be the guy on Jackson most of the day. I think the #2 corner Corey White matches up well on guys like Riley Cooper and Jason Avant. But Harper and Jenkins on the back end will give up plays over the top.

I am also a lot worried about McCoy, we have struggled against elite running backs and some of our young DL and LBs have struggled with gap discipline at times.

No smack talk here, I think this will be a good game but I am afraid we are going to lose and have to hear for months about how weak the Saints are because they can't win on the road. I hope I'm wrong for our sake but I'm prepared for the worst.

i think we have done extremely well against the elite RB we have played. The key IMO is you know they will get that one or two big plays thats why they are elite. so far the saints have kept scoring down to a min on these elite plays. ripping of a forty yarder and not getting 7 is a victory in my book as long as it happens once and maybe twice.

the saints for the most part have also limited RB from making key first downs. which is huge. like i said thats why they are elite. now to totally shut down a elite running game, well we are not there yet and i agree with your reason why

now as you pointed out the saints really are their own worse enemy. Seattle and New England proved that over aggressive play is a sore spot for the saints.

i love attacking but with reckless abandon is a game killer.

Philli thrives on miss direction and going back against the grain of the defense.

we must play under control especially at the LB and safety positions or this will be a long night. oh yeah we MUST seal the edges in this game and that falls on DL and our smallish OLBs. The OLBs need to play bigger than they are. i think this will be the area of the run defense the Eagles like every other team in the past three years have attacked.

this should be a fun chess match to watch

Re: Eagles fan here

I think if both teams play to their potential then is should be a good, close and entertaining game! . . My main concerns are the weather, dome teams always seem to struggle in bad weather conditions.

But also, as has already been mentioned, if the Refs get things wrong, or throw flags for everything and don't let the players play, (for both teams that is), then that could ruin what should be a good game!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!
