COMPARES TO: Brett Keisel, Steelers -- Don't count on Mauro for blinding speed off the edge but his size, strength and toughness could make him a dependable five-technique defensive end, like the Steelers' Keisel. --Rob Rang (1/14/14) |

Re: Mock Draft Simulator
I like Zack Martin pick. It would be great if he is still there when we pick.

Round 1 (27) Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State; Height: 6' 0"; Weight: 202 lbs. Round 2 (58) Dakota Dozier, G, Furman; Height: 6 4; Weight: 312 lbs. Round 3 (91) C. J. Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa; Height: 6 5; Weight: 265 lbs. Round 4 (122) Charles Sims, RB, West Virginia; Height: 6 0; Weight 214 lbs. Round 5 (155) Jeff Janis, WR, Saginaw Valley; Height: 6 3; Weight: 220 lbs. Round 6 (186) Josh Mauro, DE, Stanford; Height: 6 6; Weight: 271 lbs. Offensive Tackles went early in each round as Saints are picking late... Reached on Dozier as I felt he was a safe pick and could play RT... Like Mauro, but was looking for UNC Center/Guard Bodine who was selected two picks before Mauro... No way Sims and Janis are there in those rounds, but they were there so I took 'em; power of positive thinking? Faith? Well, the combine is starting to really shake things up... |

R1 (27) OT Morgan Moses, Virginia R2 (58) TE Tory Niklas, Notre Dame R3 (91) WR Jeff Janis, Saginaw Valley State R4 (122) CB Antone Exum, Virginia Tech R5 (155) DE Taylor Hart, Oregon R6 (186) OLB Ron Powell, Florida Again, if OLB Howard Jones, Shepherd University, had been in the player pool I would have taken him in the sixth round... As Jimmy Graham and his agent have lost their collective minds, I'd be happy having another first round pick, this season and next and really do some damage in this very deep draft... |

Round 1 (27) Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt; Height: 6 3; Weight 212 lbs. Round 2 (58) Troy Niklas, TE, Notre Dame; Height: 6 6; Weight: 270 lbs. Round 3 (91) Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State; Height: 6 3; Weight 298 lbs. Round 4 (122) Max Bullough, ILB, Michigan State; Height: 6 3; Weight 249 lbs. Round 5 (155) Josh Mauro, DE, Stanford; Height: 6 6; Weight: 271 lbs. Round 6 (186) Walt Aikens, CB, Liberty; Height: 6 0; Weight: 198 lbs. If OLB Howard Jones, Shepherd University, had been in the player pool I would have taken him as high as the fifth round... As Graham and agent have lost their collective minds, I'd be happy having another first round pick in this season's very deep draft... I'd even trade back for a second and third round pick as their are multiple players who can start immediately through the third round... |

If OLB Howard Jones, Shepherd University, had been in the player pool would have taken him as high as the fifth round... Would love to trade back into early round two to select LB Jerry Attaochu and gain another mid round/top 100 pick as this is a deep draft class... |

Brandon Thomas, OL, Clemson; Height: 6 4; Weight: 316lb, is moving up draft boards... If we were to select a Tackle in the early rounds, we'd be selecting a Left Tackle... ...thus, moving Armstead, a more athletic linemen to Right Tackle; shouldn't matter when they're selected, but our running and screen game could explode... Problem is, the better talent at Left Tackle is off the boards by the time we select... Between the Salary Cap and this Deep Draft Class, wouldn't mind JG going to Miami... If OLB Howard Jones, Shepherd University, had been in the player pool would have taken him... Would love to trade back into early round two to select LB Jerry Attaochu and gain another mid round/top 100 pick as this is a deep draft class... |
