Anyone else scared of Gates having a huge game? Especially with our linebackers in coverage, Ruff particularly. We know he's not the best in pass coverage. Antonio Gates is turning into a major TE weapon in this league, he's a playmaker. Thoughts anyone??

It\'ll be up to Hodge and what kind of game he can pull out of his hat.

So you\'re saying Gates has a 120 yard, 2 TD kind of game?

Chargers are scarier than people know. You\'re right about Gates. I think he is a MAJOR reason why they are doing so well. Very important to have a tough TE who can catch the ball on 3rd down to move the chains when all the WR\'s are covered... Hmmm....don\'t we know that.

But as a defensive scheme, who do you try to stop? LT, Gates, McCardell, Brees? Do you take away the short passes to a TE, do you \'try\' and stop the run? Do you blitz Brees\' brains out? Or do you drop back and protect against the big pass play?

With our defense....will a game plan make a difference? Not sure. But I think we should stop LT 1st. Stop the running game, something we truly haven\'t done yet (don\'t tell me about the Rams and Raiders as examples)

#2 would be stopping Gates. If we can clamp down on LT and Gates we can win this game. But that is expecting our LB\'s to come out fighting and playing smart....so don\'t hold your breath.

Chargers 31-17 sadly.

Who are these people? Everyone I talk to respect the team that Marty has put together.

no one hear thought he was going to be the player he is, to tell u the truth, you guys don\'t have a LB to stop him, Ruff was a special teams player at best for us so I hope your not counting on him. I wont make predictions but I expect a huge game for gates because he has the size speed and all of a sudden he shows he has hands comparable to the top tier WR\'s

Yeah, that\'s why I picked him up on my keeper league at the beginning of last year. 6\'4\", 260lbs, extremely athletic, and I made the move based on a recommendation from a friend of mine that lives in San Diego. What I was told- \"Great size, great speed, nice hands, and huge ceiling\" So I took a gamble and it paid off Did I know he would be this good? Nope.
And we are aware that our linebacking crew is the worst in the NFL. And I believe Ruff was not only a special teams player, but I\'m pretty sure he started a few years for you guys as well.

Ruff never started a whole year for us. He started and/or played in games but he eventually was dropped to special teams, a very good special teamer, Gates will make you very happy in ur fantasy league, but he will also make you throw things this weekend with the seperation that freak gets, he gets seperation on DB\'s LB\'s DL it hasnt mattered yet
