There's only a few corners and safetys in the league that can keep Graham clamped down for an entire game. You need someone that's big enough to push him around and yet fast enough to keep up with him when he gets by. And the team also has to have a second big defensive back that can cover Colston.
It doesn't happen often though, he's still got the best receiving numbers of any TE in the league. I think what's been happening this year is the guys around him aren't stepping up when he's bracketed. In some games, we're missing that other option. Just my opinion. |

Re: What I will take from 13-14 Season
I think a lot of you are over reacting to Graham and the game he just had today. I'll agree that he was never the same after the performance in New England. However, as much as I love Marques Colston I think we are lacking a true number one receiver. I still think there is a place for Colston on this team. Morgan, Stills and Toon are still unproven and both Moore and Meachum are more than likely on the way out. A part of me is still willing to see if Moore has something left, as he always was a reliable receiver. Injuries IMO really hurt his season.
Graham is one of those match up nightmares that works well in this offense. I think we are a true impact receiver away from maybe taking a Aqib Talib or Richard Sherman off him in coverage. We need more guys that can create separation both at the line of scrimmage and down field. We just don't have that right now. |

16 touch downs. He'll get his money.
