Re: Kicker ?
We will have 1 next season, I have no ideal from where. We need 1 good enough not to worry about that position for years.

Re: Kicker ?
Deerek Dimke5-11/180 2012 ufda by lions in 2012 out of illinois was signed a few days ago by saints.with hartley cut an graham at age 36 at end of road.so saints most likely had the pick of young kickers to pick from as all the free agent kicker know the saint are a team which needs a kicker for 2014 .so i bet dimke no bum an i would not be surprised to see saints draft kicker in 6th round.or more likely take the pick of 2013 undrafted kickers for camp battle against dimke as with kickers knowing saints in need of a kicker i sure payton will have a easy sell to to 2014 ufda kicker not drafted.

Re: Kicker ?
I'd be satisfied with Shayne Graham again...

Re: Kicker ?
yep could be a rookie mini camp battle between dimke an a 2014 ufda kicker with the winner trying to take shayne grahams job.keep in mind in 2014 saints start 17,000,000 over cap now cutting Will Smith will save about 11,500,000 on cap but still Saints who were less than 700,000 under 2013 season end game.So graham being a 15 year vet even at vet minimum contract will cost 3 times as much as a ufda rookie kicker.

Re: Kicker ?
We have Dimke waiting in the wings so I say we bring back Jose Maltos for training camp and let 'em battle.

Re: Kicker ?
Think about it...
What Free Agent Kicker wouldn't want to come to the Saints?!? Plenty of opportunities to score and improve your FA stock... With this offense, average attempt is probably 33 yards... Play for one of the best fan bases in the country... A community with a low cost of living so you can live like a king... Shouldn't be that hard to draw some quality candidates... Graham did a fine job and should improve for us if he stays... as long as he doesn't geaux all RAY FINKLE/LACES OUT on us after that first attempt in the Seattle game (Cue Luke McCown pic with "Crying Game Theme")... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
