this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Since it looked like a re-make of the Music City Miracle, IF Colston had gotten the ball to Cadet, would he have scored? It looked like on the replay that about 3 or 4 seattle defenders got to the area ...

Question about the last play
Since it looked like a re-make of the Music City Miracle, IF Colston had gotten the ball to Cadet, would he have scored?
It looked like on the replay that about 3 or 4 seattle defenders got to the area fairly quickly. Designed or not, IMO Colston should have stepped out of bounds. |

Re: Question about the last play
Utter foolishness. No play if it involves another forward pass.
All if and buts are redundant. |

Re: Question about the last play
Yea, it wouldn't have counted because it was a forward pass. I would have rather Colston get out of bounds and try the hail mary. You never know what might happen.

If Colston had legally, correctly gotten the ball to Cadet, would he have scored? |

I don't think so, there were a few Seahawks on that side of the field. If they were trying for the River City Miracle, I thought Colston had some room to move around. He should have run with the ball a second or two more to attract some defenders to him and away from other Saints. |

Re: Question about the last play
I'm sure Colston thought the play had taken too long too long to develop and the clock was running out. Since he was the only received who showed up, and the one who recovered the onside kick to even put us in possible miracle state, nothing but love for him.

Re: Question about the last play
I was impressed with the way the defense played. Our problem is speed and no OL. Our receivers can make catches, but can't break away from DB's. Don't get me wrong, I love Colston, Stills, Meacham, etc., but we need speed IMO. We can't blame the game on weather cause Seattle made plays. Jimmy was shut down cause we couldn't get the ball to other receivers, Seattle has too much speed. I may be wrong and get harsh replies after this, but it's what I see. We have a young team and they are in the growing process. Hopefully we get better for next year and get our 2nd Supper Bowl!
