Re: Ingram,Robinson or Thomas

Unfortunately with the Brees situation we need not just a youth movement, but a cheap movement.... We desperately need picks right now. We need to fill the ranks with hungry, fast, young guys at league minimum, who are looking to make their mark with the Saints, then get their payday elsewhere....just like we had in 2006 - 2008-2009.

The double whammy hamstring of the Bountygate/Ingram loss of picks, plus continually picking from the bottom of the deck (the curse of being consistently good) has really affected this team's ability to re-up and reload and stay young. Age is catching up with us. As long as we get something for them (not just throwing them in the trash to be left on the curb) I could see Sproles or Thomas OR Ingram being dealt. Plain and simple, we need picks that can play and be starters a year from now, going forward.

Agreed but below 2nd round picks are normally projects and its a toss up on whether they are ready to start or not their rookie year.

In 2014 we have all of our 1-6 Draft picks until round 7. Haralson made the roster so SF gets that one.

I like the way Ingram played down the stretch, but is he a multi-dimensional back? Observation says no. I think you could draft Jeremy Hill from LSU to be the bruiser/bellcow back for this offense and get the same production at 1/3 the cost. This would also lighten PT's load and push him more into a Sproles-type role so you can let Sproles go as well. Go into next season with Thomas/Robinson/Hill (or somebody very much like him) at running back would be ideal and save you a ton of money.

Sproles is special, so he has special uses.... That said I would rather not see a RB returning punts and kick offs. Only 3 of the top 30 return guys in the NFL are RBs.

That's probalby just my PT bias speaking since he is one of my favorites. I could see him getting traded and keeping Sproles instead as well. I agree Sproles time as a return man should be over.

PT is pushing 30, window for a trade is probably already closed... 30 seems to be the no-man land when it comes to running backs

I think Ingram is the odd man out. Yes he did well in playoffs but he was basically invisible for 3 years prior. I don't think the FO will make a knee jerk decision based on just a couple of games and let PT or Sproles go. I think KRob is the future. He is cheap and can be every bit as effective as Ingram and the FO absolutely gush over this guy. We need PT for the screen and we need Sproles to be Sproles. I really do hope Ingram finds a place and does very well, but he is not a good fit for our offense.

Khiry.. Mixture of PT and Ingram. I love how he always puts his hand down to continue the run. All he needs is screen skills and pass blocking.

That's all? Those skills can be learned, but it's not like you can snap your fingers and it's done.

Khiry has some work ahead of him, but I like what i've seen from him so far.

Yes I caught that comparison too, Parcells should know. I think Coach may have learned his lesson with Ivory and Khiry should lead off and set the tone
