Re: Jimmy Graham Contract
Regarding this debate that the media is driving about WR vs TE, which I find humorous as the "media" just selected him as a First Team All-Pro Tight End, why is there no one to question these reports under light of day if that this fabricated discussion is somehow a quid pro quo with the player's agent(s) who are often source(s) for stories?!?

Because 80% of them are hacks and reputable journalists wouldn't give 5 seconds to read their work. The other 20% are not journalists but rather entertainment columnists and the stories do what is intended, generate website traffic in the offseason. Nearly all articles or columns about he NFL are opinion pieces that are written as though they were factual news; utilizing "is" instead of "possibly", "probably", or "arguably". |

For me, the issue comes back to integrity and credibility...
A writer/columnist's personal integrity and credibility has to be there for me to have some respect for what I'm reading, even if it's sporting news... |
Re: Jimmy Graham Contract
funny thing is the guidelines were all set in the collective bargaining agreement the nfl and the union have just agreed on. writers are writers and need to sell there rags. the real fun is to get in the room when the nfl and the players rep are arguing the 5 sets jimmy ran that will make the 4 million dollar difference. that would be fun to watch.

Its off season, so there are no stats, games, or scores to talk about. Coaches and GMs are not out there telling you what and how they will draft. No one is saying peep about who they are looking to get or give up for FA. All you can do is speculate or find another job. |

Editors once had some integrity and conscience - now we have this slash and burn tabloid mentality; damn victims and truthfulness as long as they have the story first... |

There used to be a beat writer or two for each team and they kicked the stories and info up the chain. Now: 32-64 beat writers 9,678,678,543,577 fans with blogs 6,456,875,567 sports news websites each having a person for each team. 678,764 NFL Network 'experts' All putting words in Jimmy or his agents mouth so they can keep their job full instead of part time. Then there is Costas still talking about Katrina |
