Yeah, I don't think Brees' age is a big factor here. I could see him playing until 42-43 easily. He hasn't taken very many hits over his career and he doesn't throw hard so his arm/shoulder isn't just suddenly going to give out. It's going to probably come down to those everyday aches and pains you start getting when you get close to 40 (unfortunately I know that one firsthand) and how willing he is to put up with it.
As for this offseason, I am pretty sure I have said this before but we don't need massive changes. We are probably going to have to let a few guys go for cap reasons, say goodbye to players like Greer and Moore. But any notions of blowing up the offensive line and running back situation is really overreacting. We were one last-minute drive away from winning the division, 30 yards away from potentially tying the game against the Seahawks. This is a very good team, we're just a little spoiled. |
