No kidding. Its why I rarely look up to football players as "class acts". They entertain us, and thats it.

It's true. I've been around football locker rooms too much, even in high school and college you can see the macho crap and sense of entitlement goes to their heads. These guys get away with anything they want because they wear a helmet and pads on the weekend and they get a skewed sense of reality.

No kidding. Its why I rarely look up to football players as "class acts". They entertain us, and thats it.

Class is my neighbor down the street that volunteers to help the needy whenever anyone asks, and he'd be lucky to make 80,000 in a year and no one asks him for a damn autograph or wears a f'ing jersey with his name on it.

Lachhiman Gurung

On 12/13 May 1945 at Taungdaw, Burma [now Myanmar], Rifleman Lachhiman Gurung was manning the most forward post of his platoon which bore the brunt of an attack by at least 200 of the Japanese enemy. Twice he hurled back grenades which had fallen on his trench, but the third exploded in his right hand, blowing off his fingers, shattering his arm and severely wounding him in the face, body and right leg. His two comrades were also badly wounded but the rifleman, now alone and disregarding his wounds, loaded and fired his rifle with his left hand for four hours, calmly waiting for each attack which he met with fire at point blank range. Afterwards, when the casualties were counted, it is reported that there were 31 dead Japanese around his position which he had killed, with only one arm


Bhandari Ram

On 22 November 1944, in East Mayu, Arakan, during a company attack on a strongly held Japanese bunkered position, No. 24782 Sepoy Bhandari Ram was in the leading section of one of the platoons. To reach its objective, his platoon had to climb a precipitous slope, by way of a narrow ridge with sheer sides. When fifty yards from the top, the platoon came under heavy and accurate machine-gun fire. Three men were wounded, amongst them Sepoy Bhandari Ram, who received a burst in his left shoulder and a wound in his leg. The platoon was pinned down by the intense enemy fire.

Bhandari Ram then crawled up to the Japanese machine-gun, whilst in full view of the enemy, and approached to within fifteen yards of the enemy, who hurled grenades at him, wounding him in the face and chest. Undeterred and severely wounded, this sepoy, with superhuman courage and determination, crawled up to within five yards of his objective. He then threw a grenade into the position, killing the enemy gunner and two other men, and continued his crawl to the post. Inspired by his example, the platoon rushed up and captured the position. It was only after the position had been taken that he lay down and allowed his wounds to be dressed. By his cool courage, determination to destroy the enemy at all cost and total disregard for his personal safety, this young sepoy enabled his platoon to capture what he knew to be the key to the whole enemy position. For his outstanding bravery, selflessness and qualities beyond the call of duty, Sepoy Bhandari Ram was awarded the Victoria Cross

Off-topic but I can't stand holding football players or entertainers up as "role models" for anything. It's just an excuse for people to be lazy and not be role models for their own kids.

I totally agree with disgusting. What makes it sick is he's a good looking person, can get whatever women he wants, but he still has to drug them. That's not only disgusting and sick, but also SAD!
