New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham pulled a Switzerland and remained neutral Thursday afternoon when asked if he considers himself a tight end or wide receiver.
"That's not for me to decide," Graham said at an adidias charity event with New Orleans Pelicans guard Eric Gordon in the French Quarter. "I'm going to do, and I'm going to play, whatever I'm asked to do. It's that simple." The debate is a primary negotiating point for Graham and the Saints this offseason when it comes to hammering out a long-term contract and even a probable franchise tag designation for the top free agent in the NFL. When asked where he currently stands on his contract talks with the Saints, Graham said, "For me, I'm just standing. I take everyday one day at a time. I'm just going to wait and see what happens because that's where it's at." Graham added he's unsure how long it will take for his contract stalemate to come to a resolution, but he's not anxious "at all" going into an offseason of uncertainty. "I'll be ready like I always will be," Graham said. Read more: New Orleans Saints' Jimmy Graham mum on tight end/wide receiver debate as contract talks remain slow | NOLA.com |

Tag him let other teams give up picks or he plays for tag money, it's not like it's chump change. It's no way I would let him hamstung this team that wants to win. There is a window here!!

He is worth more than the TE tag but not worth the WR tag.
Meet him in the middle or let him walk. |

Correct. If he's listed as a WR, he isn't even top 10 at the position in my opinion. Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Josh Gordon, Demaryius Thomas, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jefferey, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, AJ Green, Julio Jones, Roddy White, just to name a few (lol), are all better RECEIVERS then Graham.

This is gonna be like the Brees thing was. It's actually an interesting legal point that has ramifications for other players down the road, so I would not be surprised at all to see this end up in arbitration over the TE vs WR tag price and go all the way to the end of the line. It will come to that, and then once the decision comes down, I see a deal being struck within a matter of days -- just like it was in the Brees deal where Brees pretty much HAD to appeal the franchise tag he was given, because (a) it was so many potential millions of dollars on the table and (b) because the decision the ruling would make, had an impact on other players who may someday find themselves in the same situation.

Its good to see Graham handling this in the right way.
Just be quiet about it and let it play out. No sense in throwing sides under the buss and causing a stir just let the business side take care of it. This doesn't need to be negotiated through the media. |

It's a shame how greedy NFL players are these days. I can appreciate someone wanting to get paid a fair amount, but the money some of these guys are getting could last me 20 life times!

I think you can make the case that he is in the top 10 WR's. Certainly has the TD's to prove it. Just outside of the mark in receptions.
