If the NFL has defacto with out rules formal change allow DBs to grab mugg armbar receivers the we need smaller quick recivers an a smaller quicker Te like Josh hill an wrs like a joe morgan.however the pass interference rule is only for a few select teams. If rule called the way it in the rulebook then no way we see jimmy an marques shut down by sea hawks. If lewis was allowed to do what sherman allowed by Refs the he nfl best Cb.Some teams saints play will not have old wink an nood so we need a blendof body types. Some of what we do to me is how long we stay in nfl dog house.Point is we can go to superbowl but we need to put best 53 roster.Drew is 35 time to spend for the next two years and penny pinch with rookie ufda types from say seasons 2017 thru 2020.thats what 49 ers did after old eddie D was forced out from a bad deal in la thats one thing old edwin did good on.We need to resign vets like Haralson an strief as its win NOW.

Or we. could go the opposite route and line up some 300 pounders in the wide receiver position to start tossing around defensive backs like rag dolls if the refs refuse to call anything.

True but even rice had speed opposite him. But if we dont get more physical like u said it wont change. I believe payton saw enough .like he said with brown at left tackle things will change next season.

I think we need more speed in several areas. The consensus is WR, and I agree totally. RB is another we could use, but don't really need.

I think we desperately need more speed at LB and safety. Vaccaro timed about the same speed as Jenkins and Harper did. Not slow but certainly not fast, although vaccaro plays faster than he timed. Bush is a pretty fast safety but that's it.
We also need speed at the PR KR positions. We're pathetic there

That may be why Bush/Vaccaro seemed like such a good combination on the field. Their play may compliment each others.

Strief is not a good run blocker....his knees are shot and he doesn't get around the field very well. Losing him would not be an issue, however, not bringing in speedy receivers is also an issue.

Re: Saints Offense has to get faster next year

If you just do the simple EYEBALL TEST, and look at the other 4 teams that were playing this past weekend, or the 8 last weekend, then you can see that the Saints desperately need more speed. Kick returns, DB coverage, WR's, RB's, gunners on punts -- speed and quickness is needed all over the place. Youth movement starts NOW if this team wants to stay competitive. We are trending towards slow and long in the tooth.

As Danno said about one of our players, we have a lot of guys who are "not slow, but certainly not fast." That is NOT good enough anymore at the playoff level.

Certainly - we do need to be faster on offense. Faster with the ball. Faster without the ball. And more physical too.

I would like a no-huddle offense too.

Re: Saints Offense has to get faster next year

Its no shocking revelation that teams want to get bigger, stronger and faster every year.

When I compare our team to other really elite teams (yes, we are elite), I sense a lack of speed specifically at WR, OLB, ILB and FS.

If Morgan could stay healthy, he'd upgrade WR speed.

OLB is unimpressive. Galette is fine, but he's more of a DE/OLB. Butler may help but it would be nice to have that heat seeking missle at OLB. You know, what we all hoped Martez Wilson would be.

ILB isn't so hot either. No one has ever accused Lofton of being fast. Hawthorne is adequate but I'd love some more speed there too.

FS - we're slow. Other teams FS's seem to move as fast as CB's. Ours look like they're in the box SS's. Maybe its just the ole grass is green complex, but we sure look like we're behind other teams a tad on the speed meter.
