this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Seattle uses him the right way, we wouldn't. We use PT and Sproles correctly but get away from the run when Ingram and Robinson produce in straight up handoffs. We would waste Lynch's talent....

We had injuries to Ingram, 1/2 the offensive line, Pierre Thomas... Go back through the play by plays... Sean didnt just stop using them, he stopped using them when they stopped successfully running consistently, and our o-line stopped blocking consistently. (for the most part) |

Deuce got his carries. We haven't had a Marshawn Lynch caliber of back to warrant those carries since Deuce was in his prime. If you think Pierre Thomas or Sproles could handle running the ball as often as Lynch, or are as talented and deserving you're crazy.

This young kid Robinson might make some people forget about him.

Re: Imagine if the New Orleans Saints were successful in their reported attempt to acquire Marshawn Lynch
Honestly these hind sight news articles from years back are the only reason anyone other than Sproles/Robinson/Thomas/Cadet/Ingram are being thought or talked about.
Other than nothing else to write about, i am not sure why Holder even wrote and published the piece. Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda means nothing. There is no way of knowing how he would have preformed. Realize how many discussions there would be if we went back and unearthed every player the Saints tried to get but didnt? Here is the wash and one thing that I do know. It would have been at the expense of Robert Meachem our first round pick and would have cost us Pierre Thomas who we picked up that year in free agency. Sorry I am not willing to give up a Super Bowl for Marchawn Lynch. Now there is your painted picture. |
