Re: Saints Defense... Is this a fair assessment?
I think that's a fair assessment. Most of us have posted over the last year or so how bad the tackling was. This year it was much better. It stands to reason that more emphasis was placed on tackling technique rather than strips. And in the backfield, I don't think there was much route jumping or ball hawking going on. They may have been coached to take fewer chances. Whether that is due to personnel or just learning the system, who knows, but I think it will get better.

I don't think you can come in with a some what a new system and change it over night.
You need time to build that confidence up and know what you can and can't do out there in the system. Some of it comes with trust. |

Rob Ryan May be the only reason Brees gets another ring
I understand the need for offensive weapons this year but ... Seattle has changed that urge greatly ... I think our offense is better than theirs , and our defense wasn't too far from theirs either ( I feel our defense out performed them in the playoffs ) if we upgrade on d by taking actual risks on players like Talib , Byrd , Beason ( was considered Patrick Willis before Patrick Willis ) and get some nasty pass rushers via draft I think we may already have our team for the next 5 years ... I mean sure picking up or trading for a Josh Gordon makes us insanely dangerous , but if we can dominate teams to where they can't scare but once or twice a game , we wouldn't lose period Oh and Brees needs to give some of that back ... |

We were #4 in yardage, #4 in points against. Who needs risks?
