Hawthorne may have been our best LB last year. Hawthorne has 3.5 million cap, but 4.5 in dead money. If we cut him it actually adds a million to our cap. PT is probably the best candidate because he has a 2.9 cap hit and zero dead money. So, by cutting all 3 of these players you save a grand total of 3.1 million, of which PT accounts for 2.9 |

Re: Could Sproles contract be next in line to be terminated?
I just shake my head at people saying that Bunkley should be cut. It's obvious that we need to restructure his contract but cutting him would be insane. With all of our needs do we really want to have only one DT on our roster?!

I agree the right move is getting rid of him BUT surely he had some trade value?!

Re: Could Sproles contract be next in line to be terminated?
I think Sproles being cut means PT is staying (possible restructured). He is hands down the most well rounded back we have had in a long time. Not to mention the most dependable. I hope he stays (for a hometown discount). PT, Ingram, and Robinson makes for a nice backfield IMO.

Re: Could Sproles contract be next in line to be terminated?
I've been pretty frustrated with too many RB screens . It was getting hilariously predictable. Teams have been seeing it coming for at least a 2 seasons now. Time to get the traditional run game back. 2009 anyone?

Goodbye Darren! Thanks for all the great things you did for this team!
Struggling to get used to what feels like a mass exodus of our favourite players, although its not really I guess. Already a few familiar names that won't be on the sidelines next season. Just hope the Coaches and Front office know what they are doing! I'm guessing thats their job and they have made some good decisions in the past. Still a little surprised that DS is going though. Both of them save just over $1ml in cap space each but we would be paying them over $4ml each in dead money. Who you going to get to replace them for under $2ml when you already need a new starting C,RT and need depth on the O-line,RB,CB,WR |

Re: Could Sproles contract be next in line to be terminated?
He was definitely fast aswell. Few backs in the NFL had his explosion. But he lost a step last year, and it showed. I am only shocked that we couldn't trade him. Still not far removed from being an extremely productive player, and I thought for sure we could get a mid round pick for him. Releasing him seems like a waste, but what can you do? We have guys who think they deserve more than they're worth, and with limited options you have to bite the bullet.
