Bunkley's dead money is 4.83 million, so if you cut him we only save about 1.2 million. You won't find a better DT for 1.2 million. He should restructure, but I'd be disappointed if we cut him. Hawthorne may have been our best LB last year. Hawthorne has 3.5 million cap, but 4.5 in dead money. If we cut him it actually adds a million to our cap. PT is probably the best candidate because he has a 2.9 cap hit and zero dead money. So, by cutting all 3 of these players you save a grand total of 3.1 million, of which PT accounts for 2.9 |

Way to take it to a personal level... classy move! ![]() Back to the subject at hand... I don't see any reason to outright cut Bunkley nor Hawthorne. Both played well last season and cutting them wouldn't improve the cap situation versus the strength of the roster one bit. |

Both of them save just over $1ml in cap space each but we would be paying them over $4ml each in dead money. Who you going to get to replace them for under $2ml when you already need a new starting C,RT and need depth on the O-line,RB,CB,WR |
