Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

Oh Jimmy... You hired that agent so cry on his shoulder.

Wow unbelievable. Shocked and disappointed on everything that's gone on this offseason.

When you have to pay that man... this is what happens. I'm not ready to over-react yet to all of these move so far. This is the natural progression for a veteran team. Jimmy, now your it. Don't be shocked or surprised.

Next up Broderick Bunkley he needs to be cut with his cap number and with us having John Jenkins

Bunkley is a great player. He needs to restructure his contract but getting rid of him would be crazy.

Re: Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

Cut Bunkley, but you still need depth behind Jenkins.

Stills = Moore. I won't hurt for too long on this decision.

Sproles = well, this one I can't see being replaced as easily. My only thought is that Payton wants to tweak the offense's playbook. (be less predictable)

Bottom Line - Saints fans CARE about their players so no cuts will be easy.

Shocked and disappointed? Hopefully his comment was meant from the standpoint of the personal relationships he had with his team mates, if he solely blames the club for the cuts without acknowledging his status had anything to do with it, (which we don't know for sure), then i'm shocked and disappointed in him.

Restructure Bunkley... He's way too valuable in the NT rotation with Jenkins.

Stills and Moore do not equate at all. I completely understand letting Moore go but Kenny Stills doesn't replace his skill-set as a razor-sharp route runner with amazing hands. Stills is more of a deep threat at the moment. Will he develop into a more complete WR? We'll see.

I don't know what we'll do about the RB situation. Part of me wants to sign Dexter McCluster to replace Sproles, but at the same time I agree that we have become far too predictable with how we use our RB's and just signing a different guy to do what Sproles did might not help our offense at all.

Man, I don't know what the hell this team will look like next season... I'm excited by the changes but kind of scared at the same time.

Agree with every single word.

Stills does not equal Moore
Cutting Bunkley saves us peanuts

I think its all pretty exciting as well.

Just took picture of Jimmy Graham's stretch over goal line touchdown vs Jets down off my FB Cover...

I get it's a business and I love watching the guy play...

But this BS agent-controlled management - Jimmy, convince Miami you wanna geaux there cause I'd rather have the draft picks than the Jimmy Sexton BS Machine...

Miss the days when Rickey Jackson broke Mr. Benson's conference table and said "Pay me now"

Re: Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

Jimmy's comment is a tad naive. This offseason has less to do with the price of anyone's contract including Jimmy's, and more to do with only a fool fails and returns with the same strategy.

We have released for the most part players that were part time, couldn't stay healthy, lost a step..... Most of you were calling the same players your panicking over losing soft, worthless, man handled.

The Saints are a $900m business, and the business of the NFL is Championships. When you don't do your job and your part to make the zoom pant successful you get let go.

Yeah... That was a really dumb decision to post that. It's only gonna get worse when our starting center and right tackle sign elsewhere.

How else did he expect the Saints to find the money to sign him

I for one agree with the moves and think it will make us better in the long run. Can't keep these guys forever just because we like them. I hate to see it happen but I trust our front office. My question to some of you guys like Danno and Oak is are we trying to rebuild our offense AROUND graham?? If so is that a smart move?

Shocked? seriously? It's math, Jimmy. Start with the cap number and start subtracting. Poor timing, poor choice of words. Irony obviously lost on this boy.

I just hope PT doesn't go as well. KR and Ingram can't give the 150 catches we are losing

onebyone 03-07-2014 09:04 PM

Re: Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

Sometimes I wish players didn't tweet at all. First Jimmy is all disappointed with the team's actions, and now Junior Galette is subtweeting Jimmy about his $$$ and it all just seems silly. What's next, spitballs?

It's time to make some changes on that side anyway.

Re: Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

I don't get why everyone is getting their panties in a bunch about Jimmy getting paid. He has earned his money he is about to get. These players that are getting cut cause they are making too much for the production they are giving bottom line.

This is what winning teams have to do in order to keep winning
look at new England think they never let good players go

I have no problem with him wanting to get paid, but I think sending out a tweet that you are disappointed and shocked about the offseason and losing all your friends when its what is necessary to do so in order to get paid is kind of stupid.

Re: Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

I'm not upset by the moves. This needed to happen, saints have gotten the message. And with playmakers on this team a few years from now, it will make it easier for the next qb who takes over when Brees is done.

Jimmy doesn't seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Re: Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

Brees Contract... He can't play on the road which is half of our games so his pay should be docked accordingly. Restructure to 15 a year bud.

Jimmy's a TE , a disappearing one too ! 9m max take it or I'll take the Picks ...

Rell&Gold 03-08-2014 12:06 AM

How would jimmy know that lance or any others players would get cut for his contract if that's even the case

Rell&Gold 03-08-2014 12:15 AM

Re: Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

Players get cut when production doesn't match the pay, it was bound to happen I'll miss #16 but I think #84 will suffice

Re: Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

Could be Jimmy gets more than a shock if Loomis don't want to open up the vault and makes him play for TE tag money only. I believe Loomis would not be stupid enough to keep him if the ruling comes back in Grahams favor for WR pay. And out of curiosity what kind of comp. pick would we recieve for him anyway? I would seriously draft a TE this year.

Graham has a right to his opinion with his employer, but to his employer not the entire world. You're paid to play. If you have an issue bring to your boss. Respect gets respect.

What I'm saying is IF you cut Bunkley depth is still needed behind Jenkins. If restructure isn't an option, there are several FA DT/NT on the market.

And yes, Stills season (32 catches, 641yds, 5 td) is actually BETTER than Moore's (37 catches, 457 yds and 2 td).

Sean thrives on mismatches so I expect a different look this year - to your point, not another Sproles type back.

Re: Graham's tweet: 'Shocked and disappointed'

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; Twitter is the dumbest thing an athlete can express him/her self on.
Just shut up Jimmy. Do what you are told to do and play football.
Remember that YOU haven't brought NOLA a Super Bowl. The people you are "Disappointed in", they did that. By taking chances on people. They took a chance on a "Broken" QB and that seemed to workout ok. They are also the people who took a chance on a basketball player who only played football for a couple of years.

My advice to you jimmy is to shut your mouth.

Yes.
You cannot cut Bunkley, only restructure. Cutting him leaves you with almost 5 million in dead money, and no player. Then you have 1.3 mil left from his deal to sign someone.

Hate is a bit strong of an emotion man. Believe me, I understand the frustration... Hell, I started this topic because I was completely dumbfounded by his comment when I saw it. This is just a crazy time and I just don't want us to get too carried away with the Jimmy Graham bashing. We have to just trust Loomis.
