I usually hate this over-used worn out phrase, but it truly applies here IMO.

CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!

Byrd or Graham? If you were forced to choose one.

... premature jizzing ... we need to keep Drew off his back and a few players to throw to.

Loomis is an evil scientist. The rest of the NFL hates him.

Byrd
The offense can be figured elsewhere. The only thing lacking in the defense last year was takeaways.More takeaways = more short fields which = more points

If I were making the decision; Byrd! But, I'm a defensive first kind of guy

How about Graham for two number ones, sign Byrd and Ware, and sign Tony G for league min.

Byrd.

Byrd and Vaccaro. You don't see that kind of players play together. Scary combination.

Very interesting question which would probably cause a 500 page thread lol

think I'd choose byrd, he's a game changer on defense. Graham is great but the offense is too predicated on him all the time, forcing passes to him when hes triple covered and when someone gets physical with him you can tell by his body language he loses his concentration and fire

You don't have the cojones to make that poll!

:)

Re: Byrd visiting NO

Wow! This is nuts! I've been salivating over this guy but didn't dare bring it up because of the price.

Imagine a young, tough trio of Byrd, Vacarro, and Bush. We'd be set at safety for 5 years. I hope we aren't getting our hopes up to only be let down.

IF this is going to happen, I don't think he leaves NOLA without his John Hancock on a contract.

IF he does leave, I doubt he comes back...

Especially after being on record as saying there ain't no way no how we could afford to sign Byrd. It was a pipe dream that might actually come true.

Vaccaro and Byrd would give us a strong backend . Pair them with K.Lewis and PROB add some depth @ CB I like that.

Ware's injury history scare's me. Dude is an animal when healthy but I can't remember the last time he played a season where the main story about him wasn't injury.

With Byrd, Vaccaro, Bush and Lewis, Jason David could have looked good!

Doubt it ... Jason David was member of a one man fan club.

Re: Byrd visiting NO

Naw we're going to pay Graham 12 million per season. We can't sign a player like Byrd. I don't think we can sign any marquee free agents.

Am I doing it right?

jjasso007 03-11-2014 06:16 PM

Re: Byrd visiting NO

If they are bringing Byrd in for a visit, Loomis must have some idea on a salary that they can make work in mind. And that will be with Jimmy getting a contract also. I don't think they would bring him in if they didn't think there was a reasonable way to sign him.

Plus Byrd probably wants to play for a winner. So we'll see what happens #WhoDat

Wow, hard decision to make. I can see how Byrd can help our defense. But I still have to go with Jimmy Graham.

Saintaintso 03-11-2014 06:26 PM

Re: Byrd visiting NO

Graham can be factored out easily . More balls for everyone replaces that , how can we place value on having a shutdown defense ?

New Orleans Saints, Nnamdi Asomugha 'hit it off' during weekend visit | NOLA.com

Different situation as Nnamdi had no gas left in the tank. Saints and Nnamdi probably hit it off on the golf course back then.

Everyone wants to be wooed and treated like a rock star. Byrd's just enjoying his free agency.
