Increasing cap,older vets on the roster.
Looks like the plan is too win now and pay the cost during the transition from QBs

With the new rookie contracts, the teams have the options of giving them a 5th year of their rookie contract. I would be surprised if Mickey Loomis doesn't exercise this option to keep Cam on the rookie contract just one more year.

Yeah. We might be in for a rough few years when Brees retires, but if we can pull in another SB before then it just might become worth it. :bng:..

Maybe not that bad

If Drew is replaced in the draft the QB will be under the rookie pay scale and will not be earning big money so the savings on Brees will be used to pay others.

I'm still in giddy disbelief over this whole thing. If it pans out then you can put this one up there alongside the acquisitions of Brees and Sproles in terms of the dynamic elements each brought to the team. And the fact that we're pairing an All-pro in his prime with the quickly developing monster that is Kenny V is just over the top.

I've come to expect things like this to happen every few years on offense under Payton. He will always have his toy(s).. but to finally have our prayers starting to be answered on defense is almost too much joy for my heart to take.. almost. What a day to be a Saints fan :bng:

Its definitely going to be a case of pass over the middle at your peril next year.
I wouldn't fancy running or receiving through the middle either with Bush and Vaccaro looking to knock you into next week and Byrd picking off any errant passes.If Lewis can hold down his corner as well as he did last year it doesnt leave many options, especially if tbe front 7 ger as much pressure as they did.


Looking like a really interesting season ahead. More power running which you keep teams on there toes.
