He played well against Georgia, but was held in check against Alabama and Auburn. When it comes to looking at prospects I like to see what the actual production is like rather than potential. I'm also weary of any LSU receivers in the draft. Again, you can't question how good a program LSU has, but outside of Bowe (and he has had a questionable career to this point) they just don't produce consistently in the NFL.

Personally I'd prefer Cooks or Lee if they fall to 27. If not, best player available or best defensive player on the board would not hurt us.
a lot of his lower production was from the qb being on his asse and couldn't get the ball out, but ill respect ur input. the guy will be a star in the nfl, he will be a steve smith type receiver with better hands i'm just saying.

I respect your opinion as well, St. Thomas. If the Saints take Beckham I'll hope you are right and I am wrong. Its just the track record of LSU receivers that worries me.
hagan714 and Rugby Saint II like this.

Ah, there is a lot of LSU wr's in the league and have done good. Bowe, Henderson, Doucet, Lafell, Randle and Toliver are all still playing. Bowe has been a beast with Henderson and Lafell playing solid. Randle is a future stud. So yes, you are wrong.

With all due respect voodooido, you sound like an LSU supporter... and that is fine. However, we are talking about spending a first round pick here. Bowe is the only receiver who has produced anything close to what a first round pick should produce. And, I think if you ask any other Chief fan they might tell you he has been more inconsistent, than consistent. Randle was decent last season, but needs to improve on his route running. He should get his chance this year coming. Devery was a solid receiver who would spread the field with his speed. However, he was not a first rounder and never produced as that. Doucet, Lafell and Toliver... really?

As I said, if we do select Beckham I sure hope you are right and you can tell me how wrong I was for many years to come. However, until an LSU receiver can show consistency as a top level preformer... I'd rather select a player with better producion than potential.
