Just saw a spot on NFL Networks called "Moments of Insanity" or something like that. Of course, the Turley helmet toss was on there. But they did 15 minutes on Kyle. What was amazing was how well everyone talked about him. Fontenot praised him. A number of NFL coaches and Peter King (which then made me rethink everything b/c that guy is a clown) all said he is a top flight NFL tackle. Even AB was on there talking about feeling good knowing that Turley had his back. That Turley got the team psyched up. They talked about the Rams come-from-behind win in '02 right before the loss to the Jets. How Turley went nuts in the locker room and got everyone pumped up and how it helped propel the team to victory.
Now Turley has taken a number of shots on this board, and while his play is less than stellar right now, he was a darn good tackle here. In '02 he was UNANIMOUSLY voted to the Pro Bowl by the coaches, but didn't go b/c he didn't receive any player votes. He was hated by opposing players. I LOVE that. He was mean, nasty, willing to protect his teammates at any cost, and an emotional leader. I miss him, especially considering our current tackles. |

finally..someone agrees with me on this one..turley was huge for this team...we haven\'t been the same since we lost him and sammy...that was a really poor move by the f.o. to let turley go...what was he..like 26 - 27 when we let him go?..he was just hitting his prime...that kind of boneheaded junk makes me question the motives of benson...i mean..what..do you sign them for four years...then when they start to hit thier prime..and contract time comes around more importantly..let them go?..knight was 26 i believe when we let him go...he was without a doubt on of the best players in our defense..and our defense has stunk ever since we got rid of him..he and turley were the two of them most solid players in thier positions..in the whole league..knight was a pro bowler..and turley was too..when they get good enough to invest serious money in them..we let them go..and now we\'re left with this..thank you mr benson...for yet another adventure in trying to cheapskate your team to the big dance..

Has anyone heard how ol\' Kyle\'s health is these days? Seems like I heard (announcer-speak early this season) he had a potentially career-ending back problem or something like that, but I never heard what the Rams did with him. It\'d be a shame to see him unable to return, I think he\'s still under 30.

I loved what Turley did in the Jets game, even though it was boneheaded and cost us the game. That kind of fire is not to be found on our team. Not like that. When I saw the face mask on AB in that game, I was so enraged, I felt like it was so intentional, and deserved something. Turley did something.
I feel Turley took it too far. I feel he always took it too far. He is a great emotional leader to have on a team. But if you have someone like him (who can\'t control himself), you have to have a calm mature level headed guy in the locker room too. Deuce seems like that kind of guy, but was too young at the time to play that role. I am not upset Turley is gone. I was much more upset about losing Sammy and Roaf. I just wish we could have another emotional guy step up. |

He was mopey and depressed and wanted to get the hell outta New Orleans, and start over elsewhere. Now I did like Turley\'s attitude his 1st couple years but he started to get a little too full of himself i.e. \"I\'m an elite LT and demand to be paid as such\", \"I\'m not a RT anymore\"... Then he signs as a RT for the Rams for about the same money we were offering him. But I will admit I wish more of our current players had the gameday attitude he displayed his 1st few seasons here. |

Turley was amazing... he maybe my fav saint player ever.... and have been watching them for about 20 years....
kinda wierd how 30 coaches (not 31 cause your own coach cant vote for thier player) all voted him to the pro bowl but harldy any of the players would vote for him.... no one liked to play against him cause he said himself he would play to the wistle.... he said most of the time the Dlinemen would ***** him out for continuing to block them till the wistle blew, despite them being way out of the play.... Every coach wants a guy like that playing for him, and every player wants him on thier team so they dont have to play against him... and yes, they said his back injury maybe career ending, i heard he has Stenosis of the spine (the same thing my father has and he has been disabled for 10 yrs now because of it) |

I liked Turley too, he was my favorite player for a while, had one of his jerseys. But then again, I also I remember him getting absolutely eaten alive by Strahan in that Giants game right after 9/11. He was dominated.
Remember the \"Save the Turley\" fund that was set up after the Jets game to help him pay off that fine? I still laugh when I think about that. |

The Bengals\' opponent? The Pittsburgh Steelers... Wonder where all that unused money is gonna go? - P.S. - Sorry to hear that Judge, about both your father and Turley. Is it an incurable/untreatable condition, then? |

pretty much... my father does not just have that one.... he has two other probs with his back on top of that....
The problem with stenosisis and football is your spine gets so enclosed in your spinal column (that is the nature of teh disease) that one lick can cause you to cut your spinal cord....paralysis comences...... thx, chris |
