we have our wr1 and wr2 and Slot (WRs)

why not the same for CB?

CB1 CB2 CBn and CBd ?

CB (1) Keenan Lewis,

CB (2) Patrick Robinson,

CBn Corey White, Stanley Jean-Baptiste (R2, 58),

CBd Champ Bailey, Rod Sweeting,

Not sure where the others will fall into
Trevin Wade (ERFA), Derrius Brooks (FC), Terrence Frederick

Dam pass happy NFL is going to make teams really deploy a most specific set of CB.

Hagan, think the problem with that is some teams have a Wes Welker in the slot and others may have a Marques Colston in the slot...

Many teams use a press coverage, sometimes with a little zone (hybrid defense), but either way, Defensive Coordinators are trying to get matchups so different CBs will get different locations because of their assigned opponent matchup...

the problem is the saints did not address Welker type CB in draft or FA or UDFA. we have no one on this tean till a player steps up and unseats Robinson on the outside. even the PRob is more fast than quick.

Saints did not address the slot pattern in the middle off the defense that killed us last year. no MLB or jitter bug CB.

that is one reason i really like Verret. man on man all day with these pests

Bucannon was the Int. Machine, quickest fastest and mean hitting SS of all the FS and SS in the draft. He would have been a big plus in this area. he would have almost shut down the mid range all by himself. limiting it to a short pass in front of our ILB giving them a better chance of impacting the play. If thy missed he would be there to hammer them ;)

oh well expect that area of the field to once again be wide open all season long.

Khairi Fortt (R4, 126); Saints selected him to play ILB, pushing Lofton/Hawthorne...

Roster adds?!?

Like to see us bring in another power running back...

Another Flex Defensive Tackle (NT/4Tech) for depth...

And I guess Payton is telling the offensive line you can't be hurt because we won't have anyone behind you - wow?!?

We addressed that with our UDFA's......somewhat. One of the players is going back to offense after being switched in college. Plus we brought in Armstrong to push Lelito.
Also, we brought in another UDFA RB that has a lot of potential.

Selected odds-favorite to make the squad to see how we might look...

No way we keep that many interior linemen, but the depth there is still questionable...

Doubt we keep six (6) receivers - Toon is likely gone, as is Morgan...

Unless someone comes into camp with the lazy@$$, our d-line returns with Uko the likeliest to replace the departed Tom Johnson...

Listed Corey White as a SS; he played and is likely to move their based on the other kids we already have; but he'll also likely play at CB...

Like the chances of one, if not both, the interior linebackers being overtaken at some point, early in the season...

Hoping Micajah Reynolds can prove to be a beast and transition to Guard; as well as bring some of that defensive nasty mentality to the Guard position...

Pulling hard for Robinson to turn things around and fulfill that potential...

JP, you think these two are gone huh? I really believe Morgan gets one more year to show and prove. As for Toon ... bye, bye.

K,

look at the numbers and depth chart; with Stills, Meachem and now Cooks, just don't see it happening...

Gunner?!? not likely with the rookies, sophmores will have on defense...

Morgan would have to come in and have a better camp than every receiver; all things being even, he's gone - simple numbers game...

And actually Payton may keep Toon, and definitely before Morgan...

Payton has spoke often about his preference for big physical receivers, easy targets for the QB; but Toon had better show some new things to his game, vast improvement, or he's out as well...

With the history, have come to understand Payton really likes competition at the WR spot; lots of pressure; that way he knows who will perform when it counts...

But we kept 6 WR's last year, 7 if you count Graham.

When did White play safety? I know he was projected to play their but to my best recollection hasn't played there ever.

College. The Saints moved him to CB.
