He never played safety at Samford, he played CB his entire career there. He was projected to be an NFL safety by some scouting sites.

To the best of my knowledge he has never played safety at any level, ever. I do think he could make the switch, but it'll take a season or two.

On the second point, yes, listed White at a safety spot so as to illustrate the flexibility he offers; it'll also enhance his chances of making the roster; if another safety really shines, suspect White or Sweeting will be vulnerable among the active 53...

To the first point, you're absolutely right that we've kept six receivers in the past; and while I don't believe we'll have as many interior linemen in the backup roles as shown, it's a sampling of what we have by position...

Payton's rosters are about flexibility and multiple packages that Payton presents during games, as pointed out in the example that Graham can "flex" as a WR...

Do see Payton probably trying to get more depth, development at the OL positions as we were precariously thin several times last season; again, trying to show what personnel we have by position...

At the end of the day, Payton will select the best 53 and if that means seven WR or ten LBers or six RBs - no doubt that's what we'll have...

Again, the post is a sample projected depth chart and is more to illustrate how we look as a team by position and what we may expect in potential moves...

Should we keep six receivers, think best best would be either Toon, less likely Morgan; of note, Meachem is costing 855k vs Morgan's cost of 495k, unless it was really that tight (Graham's appeal) Morgan's probably moving on...

Ah, my mistake... For some reason I thought he did play safety in college. Well in that case I'm completely against moving him to safety. He looked really good at times last season and being from a small school he naturally has a larger learning curve. A little more refinement and he could be one tough CB. Why mess up a good thing now by changing his position?!

Selected odds-favorite to make the squad to see how we might look...

Updated after seeing pictures of Marcus Ball - looks like a bigger version of the Louisville Rookie

When we keep abnormal depth it's usually because someone is fragile more than it being Sean's personal preference.

Keeping Morgan warrants an extra WR. We are also in a transition period where our WR either have 8 years of experience or 1. Need to carry a few of them just to figure them out.

Agree with your point about transitioning the experience - but don't see that Morgan has enough game experience to his merit with injuries and his small dalliance with the police blotter...

In fact, Toon has as much as Morgan in that regard...

Precisely why Morgan falls into the 1 year category.. He has made enough practices to have 1 year of experience? ;) You may have misunderstood my reply, Morgan is a liability in both experience and durability.

Either way, when Colston isn't on the field, I have more time at red lights than the combined playing time of all of our receivers. :bng:
