I know it will not happen but I'd like to see Sean break the preseason down into each game having a focal point.

Game 1 100% passing
Game 2 100% rushing

From my point it makes evaluation of the offense much easier.

I remember the Pats did a barely all rushing game or drive last preseason.

I remember Vince Lombardi used pre-season strictly to evaluate and work on certain packages. I think they frequently lost all 6 games nealy every year, then stomped ass during the season.

I've always wondered why more coaches don't just use these games as a practice.

Like you said, maybe one preseason game you never punt. It tests your 4th down conversion team and lets you see how the defense reacts if they have to cover a short field.

Or in another game, punt a lot to work on coverage units, even on 3rd down if necessary.

Or perhaps use an entire half to do nothing but run the ball to work on run blocking/power run game. You can probably combine this with the extra punting, or the going for it on every 4th down.

Because its a production first and a sport second especially preseason. Most fans wouldn't be too happy about buying tickets to see Brees but getting 4 Qtrs of running backs.
