Re: Draft Day (Movie)
Yes, no way enough people in England would be interested in the ins and outs of American football. Same is true here- there are a lot of good futbol movies that were probably never released in the US- Damned United and Fever Pitch were good films

Re: Draft Day (Movie)
It wouldnt be a popular film over here but i was hoping that with the NFL being behind the film they would have asked for a small release in some theatres in major cities.I was hoping i would get to see it in London or a NFL backed screening.

Re: Draft Day (Movie)
If they are smart they'll try to get it on some London theaters in connection with the games there this fall.

Re: Draft Day (Movie)
I saw the preview... they lost me at Dennis Leary saying "in Dallas we are used to winning"... I don't like high fantasy.

Should have went with fake teams like the Replacements and Any Given Sunday. Word is Roger made them cut out some unfriendly NFL parts which is a shame. I think it had great potential, good story, something new but it was watered down. They even had real players on the wrong teams which is just silly. Crappy NFL version of Moneyball. |

Re: Draft Day (Movie)
Don't always agree with Vinnie Iyer, but this is a good read of fact vs fiction...
"Draft Day": The commissioner is cheered when he opens the draft. The NFL: The commissioner is jeered when he opens the draft. Thanks in big part to snarky New York Jets fans, it’s a tradition unlike any other for Roger Goodell to get booed in the Big Apple. Per the filmmakers, the Bronx cheer for Goodell would have been confusing for international audiences while the movie builds up to “Draft Day” as a momentous climax. You can read more... 'Draft Day': Separating movie's fiction from NFL facts - NFL - Sporting News Doubt the draft would ever come to New Orleans with Goodell as commissioner... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
