Likewise...I thought it was a very good movie! The wife (who isn't a sports fan at all) thought it was great, so its definitely worth watching.

Great point. They attempted to mix fantasy with reality, a bad formula IMO.

Should have went with fake teams like the Replacements and Any Given Sunday. Word is Roger made them cut out some unfriendly NFL parts which is a shame. I think it had great potential, good story, something new but it was watered down. They even had real players on the wrong teams which is just silly. Crappy NFL version of Moneyball.

Smokey and the Bandit - High fantasy... Legend of a movie.

Aren't the largest % of movies high-fantasy? Otherwise they would be called documentaries.

Give me a diablo sandwich, a Dr. Pepper, and make it quick, I'm in a god-damn hurry. Buford T. Justice

Smokey and The Bandit, while being fiction, isn't high fantasy (which is a sub-genre of fiction). What I meant by "high fantasy", is basically Lord of The Rings: something that happens on an alternate universe that depicts fantastic people and creatures with fantastic powers who have never existed or will ever exist.

Smokey and the Bandit is fiction, in that the events depicted are imaginary, however they are heavily grounded in reality.

77 TA' getting that much air is pure high-fantasy.

Hobbit and Giant

Ogre or Hut, you can decide

Flying cars, hobbits, giants, ogre and Huts.... High-fantasy

As a 7yo kid watching both, that TA and the X-Wing were equally the subject of many fantasies for the next 30 years

If they are smart they'll try to get it on some London theaters in connection with the games there this fall.

Wow u never know which topics will draw this forums attention. I didn't expect this one to have any action and people are more opinionated about Costner than next years running game. Pretty funny. So yea, Costners a shmuk but he's done some good movies.
