For those of you with the hopes that the Saints may have an outside shot at the playoffs, you just witnessed them disappear like sand through a sieve. That was a pathetic display of football. Once again, no defense. Once again, they wait until their backs are against the wall to get on the scoreboard. Once again, they just flat out stunk. At least Donte' showed up today. When he learns a little hand-eye coordination, he may be able to get his hands on the deep ball.

So what happened with Boo? He still dropping critical 3rd down passes? And why could Deuce get going? Poor effort or Denver defense that good?

It seemed like every time Brooks threw to Boo he was in coverage. Poor pass selection by Brooks there. Deuce couldn\'t get it going, because they went with the pass most of the game. Reason? The Saints defense made the Saints offense play with their backs against the wall.....AGAIN!!!! When Brooks throws nearly 60 passes in a game, then there isn\'t much opportunity for Deuce to run the ball. Did have a good game receiving out of the backfield, though.

But even at 20-0 down at the end of the 1st quarter; strong balanced play on offence and strong play of the defence could have still brought us back into the game.
Franly the fact we only scored 13 at the half was NOT the defences fault. They could have had 21 points but for offensive penalties and electing not to thorw the ball away on one of the only plays that Brooks had time but instead lost 12 yards on the play. |

I am looking forward to hear haslett praise how well our defensive coordinator called such a good game, how well our defensive game plan was. I just love Haslett and Venturi

You\'re right. But instead of Haslett at a press conference, I\'d rather see Benson speaking and announcing he was cleaning house: Gone is the entire coaching staff and the front office and... oh yeah, he\'s gonna sell the team to someone that knows something about football. Well, I can dream, can\'t I?! Tom Benson may have made his money selling cars but he\'s done nothing but park a lemon on the football field for the last too many years. I wonder how many car buyers got screwed buying an automobile from this guy. I know a lot of us have buyer\'s remorse from the product he\'s shoved on us that he\'s called a football team. Jeeeeeez...when does it end?! |

Hey blake6900 - you post almost as much as me. LOL!
where does it all end? - I do not know. I just dearly wish I could enjoy an NFL season. It is like a drug. I suffer, but keep coming back. |

Looks like the coaches were still to high from the KC game (which wasn\'t even that good). But honestly, who actually thought that we would win this game?

I\'ll tell you what - if Tom Benson wants to gain a little public support for his 17 trillion dollar stadium and payments deal, he\'ll fire the coaching staff Monday. Yeah, the two really ahve little to do with each other, but it buys Benson some goodwill with the fans - many of whom would have to create public pressure for the Governor to change her tune.

Hey, when brilliant folks like us have something to say, we just gotta say it, right? Where does it all end? I don\'t know but I know this: It will never get any better with this coaching staff. Haslett\'s a hothead who doesn\'t practice what he preaches (just ask Kyle Turley), Mike McCarthy is Carl Smith in disquise, Rick Venturi is a good linebackers coach who shouldn\'t be a defensive coordinator. I\'d keep John Pease, defensive line coach but I\'m not sure I\'d want anyone else to stay. The GM Mickey Loomis is a smart money guy who couldn\'t evaluate football talent is his life depended on it. Either he has bad personnel evaluation skills or he\'s been listening to Haslett too much, either of which has been unsuccessful so far and probably will continue to be. But, my first wish is for Tom Benson to have mercy on all of us and sell the team to someone who knows a little more about football than when to twirl a parasol. |
