Patrick Robinson

A lot of people want us to pick up a CB in the draft and some think that position should be a first round pick. I tend to forget we drafted Prob in the first round 2 years ago. He's shown flashes but then got injured, by all intents and purposes he should have a big up side. CB is a position that can take a couple of years to grow into. Do you guys think that first round corner is already on the team in PRob? Have we as fans kind of forgotten about him or have you seen enough of him to know how he's gonna shake out.
He could very well come out and ball under Ryan?

Even if he does I still think we need a CB in the draft but in a late round.

He did look much improved in RR's system during the preseason, but unfortunately due to the injury, we're still left guessing if he'll ever live up to his potential.

And that is the main reason, in my opinion, most don't see him as being the starter opposite of Lewis. And in any case, CB is a position where you need quality depth behind the starters.

I wouldn't mind a CB in the 1st if he is at the top of the Saints' board.

Make or break year for him, if he struggles or gets injured again it will be time to show him the door

Robinson has looked pretty bad so far. Whether it's injuries, constant rotation of DC's or he just isn't NFL talent is hard to tell. Bottom line he hasn't lived up to the first round status. Still I think we should look elsewhere in the first round. I think the addition of Byrd will help the corners over the top. I believe Bailey will be much better than he showed last season especially not having to cover the #1 WR and having not one but two big time safeties. The Saints also have White who shows potential. I think CB will be a target somewhere in the draft I just think WR or LB is a more glaring need for the first pick. However if Loomis and Peyton stick to their best player available talk a CB being the first pick is possible.

He was actually drafted in the first round. 32nd pick. Man, I can't wait until we have a number 32 pick again next year. ;)

Alterraun Verner was picked in the 4th round that year. :disgust:

PRob has shown flashes but he has to stay healthy. I don't know really if he is going to ever be a #1 CB. Maybe #2 but there are still too many questions about his play.

If Gilbert or Dennard drop I say pounce. Either would be a big upgrade over PRob. Not completely sold on Verrett. Kyle Fuller is a great player but will he be better than other positions available? Questions questions.

I'm a Robinson fan, but if a potential stud CB is there in the 1st three rounds I pull the trigger. If Robinson turns out to become as good as he looked at times, it's a great P-Roblem to have.

One thing is for sure... The jury is still out on PR.

I say the glass is more than 1/2 filled. He is in perfect position to have a breakout season.

I'm with you. Give Pat Robinson one last go. Great speed. Decent size. Plays the ball well. Goes up for it when it's in the air. Above average in man to man and press. Florida State puts out good press guys. That's what we have now. Slow the receivers down and throw off timing while Byrd and Vacarro lurk.

Pre injury and Pre Spagnuola (2011)

Robinson looked really good. PFF ranked him 19th out of 199 corners graded. If he's able to get back from this injury in full health, he could be really good again.
