The Saints need o-line

I am worried about all this talk about drafting a corner or wide receiver with the twenty-seventh pick. I know there won't be offensive lineman available deserving of the pick. So I want the Saints to trade down into the top of the second round and draft a center/guard. Then use their second pick on corner or wide receiver. With the extra pick we get from the trade down I want a second wide receiver. I think the Saints needs are:
Center/Guard (2)
Wide Receiver (2)
Corner
Tackle
If you can't protect Drew the rest is moot.

If we pick up any O linemen in the upper rnds, its gonna most likely be Marcus Martin. He can play center and guard as well as Lelito. Any other O-linemen will be picked up in the later rnds. I would not be surprised if Saints use a first round on Martin being that they seem to want him and he probably wont make it to our pick in the second round.

Martin is who I like. Like I said I would trade down to about pick 40 and take Martin. It would give us an additional pick probably in third round to take two wide receivers and corner in second and third rounds.

I like Martin too, but 27 is probably too early and he'll be gone when we pick at 58.

Some sort of trade up/down will have to occur for us to get him.

Martin got a late invite to be at the draft. Who ever invited him must suspect he's going in the first round. It would be kinda cruel to invite a guy that you know will just be sitting there for 3 hours.

how do the invites work? Top 50 or something?
I agree that it would suck for that guy who had to sit through an extra day, but sometimes it works out (Aaron Rodgers, anyone?). The flip side is when a guy gets picked and everyone goes 'WTF?', like U. Young, and then they are scrambling for tape

Last I heard was they invited a whopping 30 prospects this year. I'm sure there will be several that will be selected day two, and probably most of them know it.

Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama

Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina

Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State

Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri

Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina

Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M

Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois

Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State

Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota

Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama

Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana

Marqise Lee, WR, USC

Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan

Khalil Mack, LB, Buffalo

Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M

Marcus Martin, C, USC

Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M

Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt

Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia

C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama

Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville

Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn

Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State

Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio State

Jason Verrett, CB, TCU

Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

It takes two to tango if we are looking to trade down.

Re: The Saints need o-line

There are some good centers available this year. My preference is Martin. I doubt that he slides far into the second round. We would have to move up if we want him. Some of the later round centers have great potential but I don't know if they are starters on day one.

I agree that we desperately need depth on the O-line and possibly a starter if Lelito isn't ready to take over at center. I anticipate quite a few small school prospects to be drafted by the Saints including at least two maulers for the O-line.

If any of our starters were to go down we don't have depth. So, we absolutely have to find raw talent in the later rounds. Just hope they won't be too raw and can contribute if necessary.

It all starts with the five BIG men up front. If you can't block, can't open holes. You've got problems.
