second round - what ya want?
 

A few players I am enamored with:

Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford - I don't know about ya'll but it would be nice to keep adding young guys on D. I like Galette and Haralson, but we still don't really know anything about Butler or Rufus Johnson. If you've ever lamented the fact that we gave up on Rob Ninkovich too soon this is the kind of guy you want to see in a Saints uniform.

Carlos Hyde, RB, Ohio St. or Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU - We didn't pick up Ingram's option and it seems likely he could be gone in 2015 barring a breakout season that forces us to keep him. I've seen both guys play a ton and would love to have either one.

Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt or Allen Robinson, WR, Penn St. - Why aren't these two more hyped? I don't know. They're both big, fast and polished. Colston clones, both of them. We did just draft a WR but stranger things have happened.

Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas - I'm back to convinced he is the guy we need. He may not be the absolute center prospect there, but he's probably the best for us. Smart, tough, dependable and was a team captain for two years.

Ra'shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota - His scouting reports are almost identical to the kinds of things that were said about Akiem Hicks when we drafting him. He's huge, could play inside or outside, can rush the passer and play the run.

I'd love to get Swanson in the second. Then I believe our offence would be pretty much set (I expect us to sign a great RB as an UDFA).

Wouldn't be upset if we went with a CB thou.

All of the players Jack Vegas mentioned I would love to have, except for Swanson. Don't get me wrong, I like Swanson, but just not in the second round.

Some other prospects I'd really like us to take:

- Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood
- Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska
- Davante Adams, WR, Fresno St
- Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana
- Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB/ILB (can play either), Georgia Tech
- Kyle Van Noy, OLB/ILB (can play either), BYU

CB. The 2nd Round is too high to draft Swanson and we already drafted a NT last year. We need a CB to replace Champ and Robinson when they're gone. I would prefer either Desir or Gaines.

Demarcus Lawrence is my favorite pass rusher left. Pierre Desir, Bashaud Breeland, Marcus Roberson and Jaylen Watkins are the best fits at CB imo. I still see us getting a RB after not picking up Ingram's option. Ka'Deem Carey, Terrence West, Storm Johnson, Charles Sims, Jerick McKinnon, and Dri Archer are all great options in the 4th or possibly 3rd rd if we trade up. As far as Center, Travis Swanson is my favorite prospect but I see us either going for Stork later or sticking with Tim Lelito.

I would not be surprised in the least to see a center get picked by us in the second. I think we'd have to trade up again to have a shot at Desir, Jean-Baptiste, Van Noy, and even Latimer or Hageman. I think BPA when our pick rolls around will likely be a center on our big board.

Jean-Baptiste is way over-rated. Without some OL, Drew's not gonna have anyone to pass to as it's way too hard to complete a pass while flat on your back.

Can somebody explain to me why a cb is wanted so badly. We had a second ranked secondary last year and added a cb and s from canada who both looked good. Not to mention we added Byrd and Bailey. Not trying to start s**t,just wondering what I'm missing here. Some people doubt p-rob but how do we know that a drafted cb is gonna come in and outplay what we have. P-rob was a former first rounder and I feel will excell under Ryan's scheme.

In the second I would like J Landry or the best center available. I wouldnt mind Attaochu either.

+1. If PRob is 100% coming in to training camp, I expect him to excel under The Big Lebowski (Rob R). I expect our edge rushers to disrupt a lot of timing on opposing QB's. PRob will be fine and C White has one more year of NFL experience under his belt.

Championship run is THIS season.

The New Orleans Saints may look to draft a cornerback and/or an outside linebacker in the second round of the NFL Draft. They also have a need at center, but they don't have a third-round pick and could wait until later in the draft.

You can pick up quality OL in the 4th through 6th rounds. No need to waste a 2nd round pick there. CB or LB is the likely pick here and there is still plenty to choose from.
