The way I hear it is that he was switched from WR to CB because he had an issue with his hands.

In the old days when you were allowed to be more physical, I think he'd be prototypical, and would have been a first round pick. Not sure how he's gonna do with that lack of speed today. He's going to need to develop some instincts that I'm currently hearing is lacking in his game. If he can do that, then I'll be stoked.

He ran a 4.6-40. Fastest time in the combine is a 4.3. Thats three-tenths of a second...seems pretty damn fast to me.

I did a little homework on the guy and he did improve his 40. I still don't like the pick but feel a little better. I just don't want to go back to the days of having Toi Cook (Stanley)burned by Michael Haynes (Julio)

After a 4.61 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste improved that number to 4.48 and 4.46 at Thursday's pro day, standing on his impressive Combine numbers in the vertical (41.5-inches) and broad jump (10-foot-7).

Baptiste graded out better than McGill, McGill has worse hips and change of direction than any of the corners who are still on the board, and his interceptions are low as well. Pierre Desir is the only corner I had in the same breath as Baptiste....... He's got everything we need and can be coached for what he lacks. Hell, his name even sounds like it's French creole...... It was meant for us to get him.

We don't need to throw him out there on day one. Let him learn under Ryan and he'll be a monster.

He's gonna spot play at first probably..... Get his feet wet, and he will still have Champ, Keenan and Rob Ryan as tutors.... It's just an awesome pick to me.....

Love his hands and ball skills. Looks like he needs to be more physical and aggressive. If we can develop a good pass rush, adding these DBS with good hands like we have could be brilliant. The negative trend here is Vaccarro, Baptiste(is that right?) and Byrd all 4.6. 40 yd dash times. We could be looking at the slowest secondary in the NFL.

A statement then a question. You are about to get ready to add a healthy Victor Butler and Rufus Johnson to an already potent Dline.... and maybe a LB like Christian Jones....

If you increase the turnovers you created from last season and bolster this #4 defense does it really matter what there 40 times are?

Yes! That a big if! A guy that run a 4.3 against a guy that run a 4.6 will have a 3 yard separation if the corner don't get a hand on them. Sherman is good for jamming and holding. You can't use that 4.3 speed if you have to carry 200lbs but with our luck the flag will be thrown a lot to set an example(eyebrow raised @ roger Goodell )

Don't hate to soon, lets see what this guy can do for us before throwing stones. He could start as a nickel guy and progress to our #2 eventually. Don't be hatin :0 B.Rad from da Boo
