Drew best defense is stepping up into the pocket. if he has no where to step up into he is dead meat. Three LOT gambles led to drew getting hammered last years Third OC gamble appears at this point in time to be a an even bigger gamble. No I do not trust the ideology set forth by the saints when it comes to OL. They have slowly down graded it as the window for yet another super bowl appearance is slowly closing. IMO opinion this is the #1 reason the saints have not repeated. As the offense goes so do the saints. Defense needs to be respectable that is it. bend do not break. How many freaking safeties are coming to camp after committing so much money to the position? Roy boy after the draft should have been told make due with what you got at safety. Time to turn the draft to offense was this year. same goes for UDFA. We should be OL heavy going into camp this year. instead we have a skeleton crew. If this aint being cute with OL i do not know what is. The had a chance make moves to secure the best options to fix it and blew it. |

Zimmerman had 257 tackles and 13 interceptions during his career at K-State, and joins former teammate, 6th round pick Tavon Rooks with the Saints. Uko was a two-time All-Pac 12 honorable mention selection, playing both Defensive End and Defensive Tackle for the Trojans. Hamm is a 6-3 233 receiver who grew up in Leesville, La. He has upside as a redzone threat with good athleticism. Reynolds 6-5 330 began his career in East Lansing on the offensive line before switching to d-line, and could return to o-line as a pro. Uzo-Diribe impressed coaches and scouts at the annual East-West Shrine Game with his explosiveness and athleticism. Re: UDFA Signings
STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES
STRENGTHS: Looks the part with a prototypical frame, long arms and room to get stronger. Physical and competitive blocker, extending his arms into his man and generating movement. Finishes through the whistle and looks to bury. Balanced athlete with decent downfield speed for the position. Nice job extending his arms to secure catches away from his body with soft hands. Good body moves in his routes to sell his path. Tough to secure grabs in traffic and after the catch. Finished second on the team in catches in 2013 and showed he could be more than just a blocking threat or special teams body.WEAKNESSES: Needs to continue and get stronger and fill out his frame. Average-at-best functional power. Not an explosive athlete and too much of a slow starter, needing a few steps to get going. Allows his pads to rise and doesn?t explode out of his stance. Lethargic at the top of his routes and will struggle to gain much separation. Too easily slowed down. Rounds off routes and undeveloped in his area. Inconsistent blocking technique with poor hand placement and leverage. Needs to eliminate bad habits. Most of his playing time has come vs. lower level of competition in the FCS. Could stand to add more glass to his diet. Character needs investigated after he was suspended for the final four games of the 2012 season, ultimately leaving LSU.--Dane Brugler PLAYER OVERVIEW A four-star TE/DE high school recruit, Nicholas ?Nic? Jacobs stayed in-state to attend LSU and redshirted in 2010. He played mostly special teams in his time at LSU, seeing some time on offense as a sophomore, but a four-game suspension due to a violation of team rules ended his 2012 season and his LSU career, transferring to McNeese State in the summer prior to the 2013 season. Jacobs became the starter right away and had moderate production as an inline TE for the Cowboys, finishing his junior year with 32 catches for 453 yards and four scores. He has NFL size and length, but his speed and strength is average at best and his receiving traits leave a lot to be desired at this point in his development. Jacobs is a physical mauler in the run game, but he blocks more with attitude rather than technique and needs to improve his fundamentals in this area. He flashes NFL potential, but is very raw and unrefined at this stage of his growth and will struggle to make a roster with the player that he is right now ? might get drafted late, but more likely a PFA. |

Re: UDFA Signings
It's a little unexpected that Florida's CB's still haven't been picked up. Someone said that Purifoy was signed by the Broncos but I read that was erroneous. So he and Roberson are still out there. Wouldn't mind giving Roberson a shot... Purifoy's a dumbf*** though so no to him.
