Re: Crowded WR Battle

Locks:
Colston
Stills
Cook

Toon: Most upside of the contenders, but drops must stop.
Meachem: Can be cut and resigned all season long, paid week to week
Morgan: Exciting, fast and fragile. Could also be a week to week candidate.
Coleman: Practice squad or the B-IR (Barely Injured Reserve)
Tanner: Probably not gonna make it this year

Re: Crowded WR Battle

I think Coleman makes the team; Meachem or Morgan will be gone. That's the way I see it

Re: Crowded WR Battle

Coleman gets a paper cut from handling the playbook, goes to IR.

Re: Crowded WR Battle

I think this is Toons last shot. Maybe another injury could help him squeeze onto the field. He hasn't really shown me anything to get excited about.

Meach did the same thing so hopefully this is his year.

Re: Crowded WR Battle

Other than that one game, Toon hasn't shown a problem with drops since he's been with the Saints. Maybe people need to cut him some slack for that game because otherwise it's an extremely small sample size of work to judge him on, and he's looked good in preseason.

My Six: Colston, Cooks, Stills, Meachem, Morgan and Coleman. Sorry Nick Toon.

I think that will be pretty accurate. Might be Coleman on PS and Toon making the roster if he finally had the light come on.

Re: Crowded WR Battle

Locked: Colston, Stills, Cooks

Most likely will make the roster
Meachem: Knows the offense and is reliable. Plus he's our best blocking WR.

Up in the air
Joseph Morgan: Had a nice season in 2012 but was injured last season. If he's finally healthy, he has a good chance

Nick Toon: The light just hasn't quite came on, so this training camp will be a "make it or break it" camp for him. He has the measurables the league looks for in a WR, but he drops too many passes. If he's finally fixed that drop problem, he may beat out Morgan. If not, Morgan will take it

Brandon Coleman: Almost 6'7 and runs a 4.52 40. Has a tendency to catch the ball with his body which leads to drops, but if he can work on that, plus his route running, he may contribute this season. If not, he'll make the IR

Thanks for applying but the positions have been filled
Andy Tanner
Seantavius Jones
Chris Givens

A nice season? He had 10 catches the entire season/career. You could replace him with one of the backup offensive lineman and Drew could get him 10 catches a season. If he doesn't step up big real real soon he should be easy to replace.
