No, you need to tell me how arguably the best TE in the league being on the roster isn't not better than inferior TE's in his place. If Jimmy Graham had been on the 2009 squad the Saints would have been just that more dominant.

You tell us how a weaker roster is better. Well?

I tell you how a more balanced roster is better. I could block better than JG.

I would put quite a bit of money on the fact that you couldn't. Graham is not your prototypical blocking TE. His value as a playmaker FAR, FAR outweighs any perception that he can't block. I would much rather have a player that can catch over 100 passes, score over 15 TD's and receive for over 1000 yards than have an extra freaking offensive tackle. The Saints are a better team with Graham on the field than they are without him on the field. THAT is a fact.

I disagree with the playmaker statement because a playmaker produces and overcomes. Grahams been shut out by corners before, where were his playmakingt abilities then. I also disagree that we are better with him on the field. He is no more than a product of Paytons system. If he leaves he could easily be replaced by a traditional TE( one that does what a TE does) and a little different playcalling we wouldn't miss a beat and would be better as a O.

I disagree completely. He has been shutdown a couple of times by extremely physical corners that got away with more than would normally be allowed. There is not another TE in the league that could have done anything more under those circumstances. And, replacing him with a traditional TE would mean one less real threat in the passing game. Graham has led the entire league in receiving TD's over the past two seasons. That is huge!

If you truly believe we wouldn't miss a beat then you do not know football.

Last season Graham scored more touchdowns than anyone else in the NFL. If that's getting shut out too often, that's a pretty high standard.

He's gotten more yards per season and TDs per season since he became a starter than any receiver Drew has ever played with or that Payton has ever been the head coach for. If it's true that he's just a product of Payton's system, he's the best product Payton's system has produced so far.

Utah, it's not a question of his inherent ability - it's the fact that when he's failed to overcome in big games, i.e. Seattle, the Saints lose...

He really needs to own guys like Sherman and Talib in THEIR house as well as his own...

Re: Five Reasons Someone Will Steal Jimmy Graham from the Saints

"Look at our numbers over the last eight years," he said. "We've had a lot of different guys in there. Jimmy's only been here four years. He's only been here half the time. We were putting up some pretty big numbers before he got here, and we've been putting up some big numbers since he's been here.
"Hey, we do what we do. It's nice when you can have guys like Jimmy, and obviously he's a big part of our offense. If he's in there, we're going to try to get him the ball. We're game-planning ways to get him the ball, ways to put him in the best position to succeed. But if he's not, somebody else is going to get those touches. We'll put those guys in position."

To sum it up: "Get yourself back or I'll make some other TE a superstar"

Drew Brees ready to go with or without Jimmy Graham
