Loomis's job safe
"(Saints owner) Tom Benson is going over every big deal that his team made the past few years, you know, trades, draft picks and (stuff) to figure out who was responsible. He's determined to attach accountability to some of the stuff that went on. He might be more steamed than ever about the sorry state of his team. Word is, though, that (general manager) Mickey Loomis is safe, no matter what else happens with (coach Jim) Haslett."
Not what I wanted to hear. Need new GM and coaching staff here. |

Loomis's job safe
Hopefully Mickey goes back to being VP of Business Operations and deals with contract negotiations... Someone else needs to be in there as VP of Football Operations, then again, I\'m not shocked to see Loomis staying. He and Benson are tight, I doubt he\'ll go anywhere. What will be interesting to see is whether or not Venturi finally get canned.

I just cant see how he keeps his job as d-coordinator. Maybe he gets reassinged in the organization, but no way does he stay at his current position.

Maybe while Benson is at it..he can get something done on HIS side of the deal..and work with the state to get this team the facilities it needs..and getiing all the talk of moving silenced..that in itself would help not only the players, but the fans as well

Loomis's job safe
Dont know. With the time he has been with the organization, I wouldnt be surprised to see him moved to some other capacity in the organization. He is a good coach, just not a good D-coordinator.

On Venturi - he\'s not a good coach. He\'s a terrible coach. He\'s never been succcessful in any of the two top spots nor have his players when he was a position coach. Trace the biggest defensive weaknesses of this team back to the 80s and I bet you\'ll find Venturi at every spot. |
