this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Sure Danno - that\'s exactly the argument people like myself and Gator made. LOL But why are you jumping in? You were always against AB, Haslett, and thought we just got unlucky in FA and the draft right? Uhhhhh... NO. ...

Haslett on the Block
And I resent that coming from someone who thinks the only problem we have is Aaron Brooks! LOL |

Haslett on the Block
The fact that AB can\'t throw a touch pass was from 08. The fact that AB can\'t throw timing routes, from 08. The fact that 08 has to take long drops because he\'s waiting for the WR\'s to get separation, from 08. The fact that it doesn\'t matter who the LT tackle is, because Brooks will just back up into the rush anyway, from 08. Now 08 didn\'t buy the spin from Haslett that we were just 1 more move away from being an NFC champion caliber team. 08 didn\'t buy that going from the heavy lunch bunch to the quick, agile defense was a coherent defensive philosophy. 08 didn\'t buy that TeBucky was the final piece of fixing the secondary or that the linebackers were just fine as they were. But most of all, 08 didn\'t believe that Haslett was building a 12-4 team. I find every one of those arguments both lucid and compelling. 08 got accused of \"conspiracy theories\" simply because when 4-5 guys were all standing around saying-- \"Yeah with (insert name of draft pick or free agent here) we are a 12-4 team, 10-6 at the worst case scenario\"--08 called BS on them. Showing that people were wrong about this team got 08 labeled. I\'m with Gator, I don\'t think that makes him sound crazy at all. What does seem peculiar to me is why the crowd that was wrong for years about this team persist in attacking 08? [Edited on 4/12/2004 by BrooksMustGo] |

Haslett on the Block
Draft: Will Smith-Great pick. Henderson-Fantastic prospect, but we had other needs. I wanted Donterrious Thomas, who was there by the way. He was in my sig for two months. Karney, Watson, great picks. Can\'t argue. Thought swapping 2004 3rd for a 2005 2nd was great. FA- Young-great pick, our best DT. Would be a star if we had a good 1-tech. Craft-good pick for the money. Probably our 3rd best CB T-rex, I said he was replacable, I was right. CB-Disappointed we could land a top tier #2CB to compliment Freddy Thomas. I was wrong, Thomas isn\'t even a decent #2 AB- Unlike Whodat, I think he\'s not the only problem. But I will admit I\'d like to see a change now just for a new identity. JK Whodat, I\'ve fallen victim to the same idiotoc generalizations you have by calling out Deuce for his sub-par play so far. Haslet is crap- Been saying that for qiute a while. Glad to see your\'e on board now. Said if he didn\'t produce this year he should get canned. Whats your gripe? Defense didn\'t improve- I was wrong about the d-line, right about the CB\'s and LB\'s. I thought Sully would step up. He didn\'t. He\'s a 3 year younger version of Grady Jackson. Big time talent, no heart. I thought a middle of the pack defense with relatively little turnover, and a few key players returning from injury might actually improve, instead of becoming the worst defense in the history of the entire NFL. Pretty shortsighted of me huh? I see no basis for calling me out other than I said we had the POTENTIAL to be a 10-6 team with our coaching being the biggest problem. Oh, and its Danno, not Dannoe. That looks gay. |
