Coach Butch Davis is out the door; who's next?
Pete Prisco
It has to be New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett, even though the problems there are much greater than just his coaching. The Saints have a losing feeling around the entire franchise, one that permeates the locker room. Haslett took this team to the playoffs in his first year, but in the past three his teams have been plagued by inconsistency, a big reason being the maturity of many of the players. There have been some bad personnel moves made as well -- see Jonathan Sullivan -- that have hurt the franchise in a big way. And has Aaron Brooks ever taken the next step? In the end, Haslett will be the fall guy. The reality is the front office should take a lot of the blame. Haslett knows football and how to motivate players. In time, he'll resurface. If he gets another shot, with a better organization, here's a bet that he has big-time success.

Clark Judge
That would be the Saints' Jim Haslett. Owner Tom Benson fired the first warning shot after his team was destroyed by Denver, describing it as "the worst performance I've seen from our club in my 20 years of owning them." That's not what I'd call an endorsement. The Saints need to finish with a flourish, and, I'm sorry, but the odds just aren't with Haslett. He lost two of his final four last season. He lost his final three the year before that. And he dropped four straight to finish 2001. If history tells us anything it's that the Saints won't have a winning season. The last time they reached the playoffs was 2000, and four consecutive seasons of so-so finishes is legitimate cause for dismissal. If I were Haslett, I'd audition for the next episode of House Hunters.
The buzzards are circling...

well i was thinking some things here. after i read that has basically went crazy at half time on this team and then they came out and played the way they did maybe its not all coaching. and im pretty sure its not. i think if has gets another chance he will suceed. but i think whatever happen this past week at half time was long over due. and if the team responded that way and played as well as they did then maybe our players really arent that good. because in my opinion this loss hurt more then all the others. because i thought we played well enough to win. and if we still couldnt win then our team just isnt that good. because i do believe all our guys played hard. so what are we left with? probally a coaching staff that hasnt done anything to improve us and a team that isnt really that good. i think the blame goes to both the team and the coaching. also it was very disappointing to read that through out the league it was thought that that our gm was safe no matter what happen to has. now that may be a problem for even the next coach.

Your team stinks

Hey spk, we only played well enough to win the second half. No team can win only showing up for a half of football. Haslett needed to lose it 2 seasons ago. Too late.

Gator, I give credit where credit\'s due. But to suggest 08 had it right with all those whacky one-sided conspiracy theories is so far out in left field its laughable.
I can\'t remember a single coherent post of any substance ever from 08.
Simply because every one of his posts was as negative as could be and now we\'re struggling doesn\'t mean his points were even close to accurate.
Most of his logic (if you could call it that) were gradeschool spurrious correlations.
Example...
Ice cream sales rise in the summer.
Rape increases in the summer.
Therefore ice cream causes rape.

Yeah, he had it right, and I\'ll bet you guys visit psychics every week and plan your days based on horoscopes too.
LMAO!

Sure Danno - that\'s exactly the argument people like myself and Gator made. LOL

But why are you jumping in? You were always against AB, Haslett, and thought we just got unlucky in FA and the draft right?
